@Xilizhra - Really? Shale's personality is like the epitome of snarky!

I think most people would be "snarky" if trapped in a Golem's body (even if you weren't aware of it).  I like Shale.  Squish first and ask questions later. :)

Yes, but Shale is a little bit too amoral for my tastes. It's nice to get +11 approval for defiling Andraste's ashes, and she's entertaining to have around, but I don't think I could ever really romantically love her. Also, I like birds.

I guess what I'm going for is snarkiness closer to Alistair than to Morrigan, though... well, being a bit smarter than Alistair would be nice.

I looked up snarky because I've never seen anyone use it to describe Alistair and I wanted to make sure I had the right definition in my brain....

The usage example google gives makes me laugh:

"Hawk said critics had unfair preconceptions: "Most snarky critics had their minds set before ever seeing/playing the game. I'm proud of what we created; it's innovative, responsive & fun," he sniped." Link

It's true, it might not be the best word choice to describe Alistair; however, if he was female, I'd be quite happy to romance him. Except for the whole Loghain fiasco...

I'm not sure I want a whining, spineless, unexperienced and goofy lady for my FemHawke...

This... the only reason I was remotely attracted to Alistair was his jokes at the beginning and the way he looked(damn stubble)... you know before Duncan died...

Things went downhill from there .

I find him to still be an amusing and pleasant companion throughout the game, up until he freaked out at Loghain. He did lose everyone he considered to be his family, after all.

But, you do have a point. Leliana was a better romance option there, and I'd like someone with a bit more spine as well... just not one as amoral as Morrigan or Shale.

Well, its no secret i didnt like Alistair much.
But tbh it wasnt his jokes or him being unexperienced, these things could have been nice quirks when his overall package would have been a bit different. But his constant whineing about everything got me really on edge. Ok, its tragic that Duncan died. I get that. The whole Cousland family got murderd more or less right in front of my Warden eyes. (Or Shani got raped if playing a Tabris etc...) Talk about tragic.
And on top of that he acted all childish when it finally came to the question of the throne. Instead of honoring his Duncan - he was soooooo eager to talk and cry about every f*cking second - he just got either completley whiny or totally childish. Its like he as learned nothing about sacrifices or being a warden at all. He, the senior Warden. Hmpf.
Probs to the writers though to think him up, really amazing job.

Well that leads me to my question for the rest of you:

What "negativ" Character- Attribut/quirk dont u want to on your LI, but would be capable to cope with if it is compensated by a certain "positiv" Attribut/quirk?

Or for short: What would u really want about your LI Character so badly u would overlook certain bad things about her? What is acceptable if she has xy, and what is not.
Where u able to cope with a dumb character if she was somking hot? (tis very simplyfied example)

I couldn't put up with a naïve, inexperienced LI. It would feel too much like ‘seduction of the innocent’. Just too creepy for words. Do not want.

Really? I mean, given the ten year span I think it would be interesting to watch a character grow from naïve to an experienced person, especially if she was my LI. I don't know, personal preference.

I agree. Ten years can do wonders to naive girls.

Ok, now I am confused. Are we talking about age or general experience (relationship, love, sex)?

I'm sorry... I didn't mean for this to turn into an argument. I shouldn't have made that last comment, it was insensitive.

My Cousland groomed Alistair... she couldn't stand the smell of his feet.

Sorry ... I can't resist bad puns...

They do tend to crossover, of course. But I was specifically referring to experience.

A sheltered girl in her thirties can be just as naïve and inexperienced as a teenage girl. Really, I was just trying to  answer Ciryx’s question. It is something which I just wouldn’t like. Does anyone else have any pet dislikes which would prove a deal breaker?

I want a balls-busting lady LI! Leliana had her nice quirks about her, she's a favorite of mine, but I'd really like to see a woman who can take charge and run into battle with a crazy look in her eye. A berserker of some sort or something.

I can't think of much at the moment, but I could never be with someone who hated animals.

I was originally mad when Morrigan was mean to Dog but once I heard their banters (where it's clear Morrigan has a soft spot for him), I didn't care anymore.

You seem to be on the same wavelength as Uncanny!

EDIT: Ninja'd by Uncanny herself!
