Well I mean... I doubt shes a companion but maybe Cassandra had a romp with Hawke...
I wouldn't eliminate the idea completely...

I'm trying to avoid finding out anything major about the game before I play it... I just like what I'm seeing!
I'm getting the impression from what you're saying that the game is told in flashback?
Perhaps - given that it is told over ten years - only part of the narrative is in flashback? Perhaps she doesn't want to let on that she knows Hawke for some reason? Perhaps she has amnesia?! Lol!
Aww, you want to remain unspoiled!
I'm also trying to avoid too much information but it's impossible for me not to be a bit curious over things.
The game is told in flashbacks indeed. Some things may even be "exaggerated" by Varric...
Maybe he can narrate a fake encounter between Cassandra and F!Hawke!!

Yes... I'm curious to see the characters who will be in the game get revealed. The game of spot the s/s LI is a fun one! I've only had the chance to play once before: DA:O. And I got it wrong that time!
Of course I tried playing again with ME2 without realising the game wasn't actually in operation... <_<
It's tough to play without exposing yourself to storyline teasers you'd as soon not know, though...

How about being so interested in someone that you go out and make them a widow!
That would be... interesting!

That would be a complicated, but very intriguing, LI story to play!
Especially if the whole "Fallen Templar" aspect were worked in, so you didn't have to feel bad about getting rid of Wesley. But only needed if you were taking the high(er) road, so to speak...
If you were already on the Dark Side, I guess it wouldn't be much of a problem to knock off a rival.

You've read my mind!
It would certainly be a nice change of pace in terms of getting a LI. Killing Leliana's ex was the closest thing to that and I enjoyed it immensely. Really, who hasn't wanted to do that at least once in real life

It could get very interesting if you had to hide what you'd done... would you keep murdering people to keep your LI ignorant of your actions?!

Orlesian Noblewoman: Well, I have enjoyed our time together but my husband has gotten rather suspicious of our relationship. Typically this wouldn't be a problem but he has a large number of bards under his command...The Uncanny wrote...

Oh you would have to hide it, otherwise it wouldn't be as engaging. I like the idea of leaving their current partner to die when you could have easily saved them, or in the middle/end of a scripted battle you stab them in the back. Or with a lie you send them into an ambush only to "arrive too late".
Ah! Plausible deniability. I like it!
Of course this doesn't have to be a bad karma / renegade kind of deal. What if the guy is a total creep who is making her life a misery? Then we'd be doing the world a favour as well as serving our own nefarious ends!

No it doesn't have to be. In the case of of he/she being a rotten person, then you should have the option of getting your potential LI to willing help you bump off their old LI. It could even open up things a bit where you could convince your potential LI that killing of their old LI is the right/best thing to do.
Or even convince them to do the killing themselves. . . .

Convincing someone else to commit murder, even if the person they're murdering is the lowest of the low, seems pretty cowardly, though. Particularly if they're supposed to be the object of your affections. 'I'd kill for you' just comes out a lot better than 'Would you kill for me?' for some reason...

Actually I thought of it coming from the two different angles. The first, that if their LI is a bad person and treats them poorly, you are convincing your potential LI to stand up for themselves as opposed to waitign for the player to come in and rescue them. Like in Jade Empire when you rescue that one girl from slavery and then have the option of getting her to kill the guy who was going to buy her.
The second, was it would be a way for more evil aligned players to corrupt their poetential LI. You know, take someone who is like Wynne and put them on the road to becoming Morrigan. You know, like hardening a character but with a more noticeable change.
