That reference is made during WH, at the Circle, by a group in the Apprentices' Quarters.Zjarcal wrote...

They can't change it now!! We know what happened at The Pearl!
In Witch Hunt even the apprentices in the Circle of Magi knew!!
It was Sanga who spread false information, in an effort to make the story spicier to attract more customers to the Pearl.
When I first heard it, I L'dOL! (No, really. "Out Loud".
But I've noticed something about DA2 in general (at least so far...)
STRONG WOMEN!

[Edited: Ok... It's really sad when you have to quote someone else's quote of your own post to get it to look the way it was supposed to in the first place. How come I could paste in the "img", but could only insert the thumbnail? No idea, but thanks to Zjarcal, now it's right!]

I really love Bethany's shot (from the trailer). There's something really badass about it.

Bethany does look awesome and I'm suddenly sad that the most attractive character in that line up is Hawke's non romanceable sister. . . . something is wrong here.

And we're back to where I started this discussion...Aermas wrote...
I agree with the above, it's sad, & now I'm having confused feelings about Hawke having confused feelings. Why does every girl on girl romance have to be with a flirty rogue? Can't it be a mage or female templar or something?
Cassandra is looking PREtty nice, (in a "Tchu vill tell me vhat I vant to know, und tchu vill tell me NOW!" kind of way...
Or, to paraphrase DA:A: "Hawt Seeker. Right Here."
(Do like white hair, long or short. Can you say Emmy Lou Harris?)

She might not be the only one though. Granted she is the only known romanceable character in that line-up as I doubt Cassandra will be available since she's in the future listening to the story we are playing (a pity). and Flemeth is. . . probably not even going to be a party memeber (sigh, I do love the malevolent hotness there). and Bethany is, well going to be little more than the subject of numerous poorly written yet deliciously filthy slash fics.
I am willing to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt that maybe there are going to be more options for both genders who want s/s romances.
Quality aside, ME2 had like 3 for each gender? For a total of six altogether (not counting ME1 carry-overs). If both genders share a bit, then we could end up with 2 s/s romances for each gender and one that's gender specific.
Suddenly I'm wondering if I slipped into the realm of wishful thinking.

Now we'll just have to work on having multiple and non-rogue options! Baby steps people, baby steps! Celebrate the victories because they are few
Ahem...sorry about that. I'm not really worried...much... >.>
Silly niggling doubts aside Isabela would not have been my first choice as a LI, but it's not a bad one. I mean my FCousland and Leliana had a dueling lesson aboard the Siren's Song and even though it was just a fling it doesn't seem right for two different PC's to... share such an experiance. But I can live with it, it is what it is. And while I would welcome multiple bi or s/s LI's I wouldn't bet the family farm on having enough zots to get them and as much as I'd appreciate it I am ok with that as well.
All in all a great news day!

I think you may have done!
There were too many romance options in ME2 as BW felt obliged to shoehorn in fan favourites Garrus and Tali. That number led to a dip in quality and depth.
I do wonder if it also had something to do with the lack of s/s options as well.
I'd expect four options two of whom will be s/s as in DA:O. Ideally all four would be s/s but I don't see BW being that bold.

Can I please have Isabela's triceps? I keep noticing in the screenshot that her tri's are bigger than her bi's (which are nice too!) Trying to figure out what she does to get those. Wouldn't think knifework was responsible. Rowing, maybe?
She got it from "swordwork" she would even "dual wield" sometimes.

Yeah, right at the end I started feeling like someone had slipped fairy dust into my drink. . . or rum. But maybe if I wish hard enough?
Screw it, I am switching to rum now.

I don't think so, I think it had more to do with who the romances were and who could have them and who couldn't.
I do wonder if it also had something to do with the lack of s/s options as well.
It did and don't let anyone tell you different!

I don't either which is sad as I don't see the difference in boldness between having 1 option and having 100.
I just want my warrior romance. I've already had a rogue.. . and Isabela in the last game, , , at the same time. Come on Bioware, please let me have a hot warrior girl for femhawke

Good points.
As a fan of Isabela I'm ecstatic today so I'm not going to be disingenuous and pretend I'm not. However, with Isabela, that does now (presumably) make three f/f rogues in a row.
If there aren't going to be two f/f options in DA2 - and I'd certainly like to see that happen - then I hope that there will be a move away from this increasingly familiar formula in future games.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a bad thing that she is there. If she is the only f/f option I'll gladly dive in, lack of variety beats not having one at all.

Hopefully in the future, if not sooner. Maybe people who are into s/s are just predisposed to being rogues?
In the mean time there are always mods

Isabela is in and (higly possibly) a f/f romance as well!
Bioware gotta work extrememly hard on the male romances for my Etain to choose them over Isabela. And frankly, I don't see that happening.

Now that Isabela is confirmed to be...Isabela, it's pretty much inexcusable if there is no F/F option in DA2 and only male Hawke is able to romance her.
Yes... our experience of her being very much established, it would be such a monumental slap to the face I really can't envisage her not being an f/f LI.
It is, hopefully, a very positive sign that DA2 will prove to be inclusive, as DA:O was, and not exclusive, like ME2.

I have ENORMOUS confidence in Sheryl's taking good care of Isabela (and us!)
See her post today in the "Varric Chesthair" thread, reproduced here:
And while I agree that the f/f Rogue is a bit too "easy", I don't mind that if it's her!Sheryl Chee wrote...
I knew that would happen the minute people found out who she was. I expect some people to absolutely hate the idea of an unashamedly hedonistic, sexually expressive female. With an inflated chin, apparently.Pseudocognition wrote...
Holy crap and a half! That Isabela thread?
I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how many people are excited to have her. And Varric likes her, so it's all okay.
(Besides, she could still be a Warrior-like Rogue, couldn't she?)
