Where would the challenge and fun in that be?

Do resist. This thread is derailed enough.

Yeah, not keen on love potions. I'd sooner a girl fall in love with my PC than be forced to love my PC...

All previous 'proper' LIs (so, not Kelly...) have been party members. Would it be possible to have a fully fledged love interest outside of your squad?

An interesting idea, but that would require to go out of your way to further the romance. I suppose it could work as a side-quest?

And there you were, preaching about staying on-topic in another thread.

I still wouldn't want Mass Effect's influences to tarnish any romance between women.

I look for some very specific ingredients in a lesbian romance in a game--first, she has to be a character I can respect, and second, she has to be a character I can sympathize with. And there has to be some sort of spark to her that would make me feel like my protagonist would be attracted to her. On that note, I personally wished really hard that my FemShep could've gone after Jack. Jack was awesome, in ME2.

I liked Leliana, very much so, but somehow she just wasn't the type
to make me think, "wow, I want to play through her romance!" She made me think, "girly best friend who does my hair and giggles with me over life and romance and things." And really, she sorta reminded me of my mom in personality; that's probably part of it (and part of why my dad romanced her!) Silk Fox, on the other hand, made me feel like my main character was connected to her. I felt the power of the burgeoning relationship, its forbidden sweetness, the romance of it, and when they finally got together I felt sort of--enlightened by it, honestly. I'd never chosen a female LI on the first playthrough before and never believed I would, but I chose Silk Fox without a second thought due to how the romance with her was presented. It was brilliantly done. She was intriguing, exotic, and self-reliant, and she had to take a courageous step in order to be with my character (fly in the face of convention publicly). It felt like a very natural, appealing, and emotionally satisfying choice.

I'd really prefer for LadyHawke's female LI (assuming there will be one) to be a warrior. An attractive, reasonably feminine, yet tough warrior woman. Neither butch nor overly feminine; just a strong, no-nonsense woman. And like Kyenne said, a qunari would be extra awesome! But I could just as easily go for the flirtatious, wily seductress type as the warrior woman type.

So far we've seen Aveline and a pirate woman in the materials for DA2... either of those would be fantastic, in my book. I'm half-expecting Aveline to remind me of Zoe from Firefly, which would be every kind of awesome.

Zjarcal wrote...

Someone mentioned it earlier, but I would
also like a Fem Qunari as an option. It seems a bit contrived
considering the views Qunari have on love and sex (for them sex never
has to be about love, it's just reproduction), but that's what would
make it appealing.

Yeah, precisely! Hell, romancing a qunari would be awesome in general... *cannot resist the urge to make a "qunari make people horny!" joke* ;)

*Callisto*

Seriously, I might just forget the male romance option's name if they could do a female LI as cool and magnetic as Callisto! So awesome. The foe yay going on with her and Xena was brilliant.

Deviija wrote...

Or, just as great IMO, have a lady romance with someone like Faith from Buffy.

OMG YES. Broken birds for the win! I loved Faith so much. Seriously, Callisto and Faith... I could definitely go for one of those. Both of them have the ingredients I was mentioning; the respect, the sympathy, and the spark of interest. Awesome characters.

But
oh wait! Every female character I have fallen in love with in
Bioware's games (Bastila, Morrigan, Miranda, Viconia...) isn't into
women at all. If Bioware sees my requirements, there is no way the next
awesome female lead will be a same sex option.

All of those except for Miranda were written by David Gaider, y'know. It may be that he hasn't written a f/f romance (unless I'm wrong?) because he doesn't feel he could write it authentically, being, y'know, a dude. I totally understand what you're saying, though. Personally, I thought Bastila would've made an awesome f/f option. (Apparently, a lot of people did, considering the popularity of the mod that makes her romanceable by a female.)

Considering your taste, though, did you play Jade Empire? I would expect Silk Fox to be right up your alley. She's got something of each of those characters. Bastila's slight haughtiness mixed with curious hints of vulnerability, Morrigan's perceptiveness, Miranda's dignity, and Viconia's mysteriousness. Well, I thought so, anyway.

F/F romance, eh? If they can avoid the overly feminine stereotype like with Liara and Leliana and return to Silk Fox then that's a win

wow, I would think that women would be interested in this as men would be in a M/M relationship (as in seriously and not joking)

I'm all up for f/f romance as long as it's not like lel. I know I may be the only one who thinks this but, her m/f was alot better atleast she joked in that romance, funny banters and the trying to charm her convo was funny. She was so whiney in her f/f romance, and I wanted to slap myself during the hair convo. lol
Upside, I thought they did a good job with making Lel and Zev's bisexuality part of their character and in the future I would like to see them make bisexual characters that give hints to being bisexual.

I am a girl and I love when people complement my hair, so this hair convo with Leli was brilliant (mmm, ok, not that brilliant as she likes your "hair" even when you are completely bold, lol, but you know what I mean).
Lels romance is a candy: sweet and delicious. <3

The brilliance of the hair convo is how it serves the purpose of "testing the waters" as far as whether a F!Warden would be willing to go beyond "just friends" with Leliana. It's a friendly thing to do, compliment one's hair, but it's also a flirty thing to do.

And yes, anything Leliana related is sweet and delicious. Well, except her convo with elves but I can forgive one faux-pas.

The hair convo creeps me out now because my favorite hairstyle was stolen by Marjolaine in Leliana's song and now it just adds a whole new creepy to "I like the way you wear your hair..,."

But yeah first time around I thought it was cute, it's something you would say to a friend, and to test the waters.

Oh... that can't be good. You should alter Marjolaine's hair in her head morph the next time you play Leli's song. That way you can wash away the creepiness.

As much as I'd like to.... I am a console player :crying: The creepiness is here to stay.
But it's ok... I just don't use that hairstyle anymore... (I hate you Marjolaine)

So if the woman in the Destiny trailer is in fact Isabela, then it's likely that she would be the F/F love interest....thoughts?

This seems very likely.
