What I would really like is for potential male LI's to be able to pick up on the fact that I am flirting/going out with another female. This would hopefully reduce they shock factor when I said I was not interested in them.
In my first play through of DA:O, I was just being nice to Alistair and flirting with Leliana and then all of a sudden he was he was upset with me because I had been leading him on and I ended up with a big fat -15 approval. I would have liked to be able to explain to him that I prefer woman, if only so he didn’t get so upset. This of course should work the other way with m/m romance.
Being nice to someone does not mean I want to go out with them.
I always thought that Kaiden in ME 1 was cute when he got all nervous when confronting you with Liara in the briefing room. “I didn’t realize that you preferred woman”
Anyway back on topic, I would just like a bit of variety, having more than one F/F or M/M romance would be nice. I tend to play female Wardens and female characters in general and as the female love interest tend to be either prettier or more interesting (or in the case of Leliana, just plain weirder) I normally go for them, so it would be nice to give Lady Hawke a bit of choice lady wise.

Yes... it would be nice for my character's default approach to a male character to be 'flirty' if I don't want that.

The way FemShepard talks to Jacob repulses me so greatly that I almost always end up avoiding him.

I've always favoured a romance having to be 'activated' by the player so that homophobes can't moan about getting ninja romanced and so that I don't have some ghastly guy hanging around my character playing the butthurt card because I'm not interested in them.

I was really surprised when my female Warden who romaced Leliana couldn't say something to that effect to Alistair and Zevran. Hopefully, we might get the option to do that in the near future since something similar has already been implemented in Fallout: New Vegas.

freaking MOVIES in 1969 focused on group sex as the main plot (not pornos- regular dramatic cinema), so to include what is not uncommon today as a part of a game that already had it in the prior game would be disgraceful.

this game is going to have to do A LOT to peel my attention away from fallout new vegas, and bieng able to imbibe alcohol and have threesomes/foursomes/group sex will help a long way as it will help create replayability as you can define your character and ROLE PLAY more fully.

unlike the large amount of power gamers, i personally prefer to rock dalish armor for the look, and dar misus over the roses' thorn or what not.  same with picking skills/talents. a characters "party" and "sexual" identity help define them beyond "rogue, warrior, mage" with "red, black, blonde, no" hair.

lyrium addiciton shiold be added too. (i digress but it does have to do with the drug angle)

you will only play DA2 if it is an interactive porn game? wow what ever happened to pong.

Ugh, I hate that too. It was like there was some expectation that you would go out with Jacob, even if he is Mr. Boring.

The fact that FemShep speaks to Jacob like she fancies him no matter what you say to him, pretty much means that I speak to him once to get the upgrade for the Normandy and that is it.

Defiantly, "activated" romances make far more sense; especially if you are there are multiple potential LI's.

I almost always find myself accidently giving the impression that I like multiple people, simply because I am nice to them.

I am just thankful that Wynn is not a potential LI because otherwise that would have led to a really weird conversation.

That said, I'm all in favour of older love interests. C'mon BioWare, a bit of experience is just an added bonus.

I agree it would be great to have an option right from the early going, kind've like in the new Fallout game, to make it clear that you preferred women, so that folks would react differently, and ESPECIALLY so that you could avoid the horrors of that awful FemShep-Jacob situation, you just pretty much have to talk to the guy as little as posisble. An option that allows you to be able to romance more of the women, and keeps the male LIs from hitting on you, that sounds like a winner to me .

I would like to be able to let my preferences known early on to avoid any males hitting on me, but I wouldn't want to exclude possible male LI's completely. So I guess it would be best the handle this individualy per possible LI.



What I men is, I would love being hit on by other females, my fantasies come true, but would not want to completely excluse possible males who might learn to understand my character's interests.



A rather tall order of a request, I grant, but what I really want is the ability to control who may or may not be a roance option for my character.

Anyway, I like Selene's idea about keeping your options open. Not for me specifically since I don't plan to romance any male LIs, but for the sake of keeping everyone's options open. Though I doubt we will have such option to be honest.
