>>As a whole. though, ME2 is pretty disappointing when it comes to F/F relationships. I'll admit. It's nice in that you have more than one choice, but, with the exception of Liara if you have Lair of the Shadow Broker, the relationships that can be F/F are mostly the least satisfying options<<
I'm not quite sure where you get this, but aside from Liara there are no F/F romance options in ME2. Jack shoots you down, Samara tells you she can't become involved, Tali comes close but backs off just when you're expecting more, Miranda is polite but not romantic. There is Kelly, of course, but she hardly counts - since she's basically just a tawdry one night stand (at least that is how it feels) and you don't get a romance badge for her, indicating she is basically the booby prize (pun intended) for those who romanced no one else.
Liara's romance material in "Shadow Broker" is the most fulfilling in the entire series, but she is your only real option if you're playing a gay woman.
>>MA is more of a first person shooter game then a rpg though, so role play and romance is probably not its priority<<
I tend to disagree, the ME games are very much rpgs. They - especially the second one - are *action rpgs*, but the role playing is still rich and rewarding in most circumstances.
>> Sure, if the writers do a good job at the romance, Isabella might settle down with the PC without being too out of character, but that just seem kind of wrong. She belongs to the open road, and my hawke probably doesn't.<<
Over the ten year span of the game she may become much more settled and ready for a family - or not. I know I'll be playing at least one rogue who won't be terribly interested in settling down herself, but exploring the wonders and adventures on the open rode/sea. (This, of course, is all contingent on the game's story which might make one or the other option far more attractive, or outright nail you down.)
