Alistair cant become King then, and your warden has to die.

I suspect that Alistair will get a cameo, at the least, no matter what decision you made. I think it would be interesting if the exiled Alistair had a larger role, or was even a LI, though. I mean, it's the only outcome where we don't have an idea of what happens to him, and the odds are againts him doing nothing but drinking for the next 25 years. We know fron the slide that at some point he is down and out enough to be haggard and loose it in a tavern, but that's all we know. There's interesting story potential there.

It would also get me to play an ending that I wouldn't otherwise dream of playing. ;)

Your warden doesn't have to die though.... Alistair just has to be exiled.

A grave you rob, sure. Yields 15 silver and Duncan's Rotten Shield. Guarded by 7 pairs of schleets.

Why would the king of Fereldan be buried in a grave in the Free Marches? Or Alistair the warden, for that matter? Oh, but you weren't serious, were you? You were just trying for some kind of reaction.....  Uh, let's see.... Nope I got nothing.

I'm just pointing out that Alistair can be executed in origins. Speaking of decisions^_^

I would definitely spare Loghain for the chance of getting this exchange. If he's recruitable more so.

I was just thinking that Alistair was originally concieved as an older, more bitter, and mistrustful man (that's what I've heard anyway). I find it interesting that if he were to be a possible companion in DA2, he would likely be very similar to the initial characterization.

Well, it was said that if Alistair is dead, he wouldn't appear. Whew, huh? That would be creepy.

I thought I made it perfectly clear.

I might actually enjoy having him in the party then. The sarcasm would have turned bitter and that annoying smirk would have become a cold sneer. I love it!

:o

I might join the Alistair bandwagon.

Re: the posts above.... This isn't really a discussion thread, is it? I mean, I'm kind of wasting my time, aren't I?

He'd be like a guy Morrigan. Might even get him over his mistrust of blood magic. femHawke may have just found her first love interest.

He'd still be Alistair. He'd just hate more and better. ;) I suspect that a guy who hated Loghain the way he did, without being angry and bitter, would really take it to the next level. You'd probably have the option of reinforcing that, or bringing him back.

Seriously if we can import files why wouldn't they include a drunk alistair cameo? That would be the most obvious thing to come to mind in importing data honestly.

Rereading this thread got me thinking on how drunk Alistair could show up in DA:2 and what his future may hold.

Alistair arrives in Kirkwall by boat around the time Awakening occurs. Hawke finds Alistair in a Tavern, drunk, trying to convince the other bar patrons that not only was he one of the Grey Wardens that fought the Blight, but is also Maric's son. A group of men who happen to be refugees from Ferelden take offense and begin threatening him.

Hawke is then given the option defend Alistair (leading to a glorious barfight), heckle him, or leave him to the angry drunken men. Alistair then leaves for Starkhaven, the location of the last battle of the second Blight. Possibly longing to be near to the closest thing to a family he ever had and hating himself for failing them.

Years later, Alistair has once more staggered his way into Kirkwall's tavern. Guided rumors of Hawke's legendary deeds and fueled by his own self-loathing, Alistair challanges Hawke to the ultimate compettion -- a drinking contest.

OR

Years later, Alistair has become a lone bounty hunter. He may join up with Hawke, but the gold is always paid upfront and in full. He is only a temporary companion, because as a personal rule he doesn't get attached to anyone or anything.

OR

Years later, Alistair has begun traveling with the Darkspawn Messenger. Alistair is an aged cynic who is slow to trust. The Messenger is ever the optimist and hopelessly naive. Together they fight crime and solve mysteries.
