After thinking about it I think it was Aladdin on the Genesis. It was pretty cool although I never made it very far, maybe to the third level or so.

Don't really remember, it was either Space invaders or some spectrum game, most likely Jet Set Willy (yes it was a real game, you had to collect stuff from around your mansion to give to your wife who was po'd at you for some reason I can't remember).

Age of Empires; I have gone back and played ALOT of MUCH older games since then - for pure fun - Excite Bike FTW!

The first 2 age of empire where brilliant. I played multiplayer for the first time with the first one. The third one wasn't so grear.

Yeah, number 3 just didn't feel like Age of Empires, but Ensemble regained my respect with the incredibly under rated Halo Wars - brilliant just brilliant (it healed the scar that Halo 3 left)

I think the first game I played was on a computer, like Asteroids or Tempest or Battlezone or Centipede or something like that. One of those old ones. I don't remember though. Maybe it some game on the Atari? Or a Gameboy game?

I never played any Age of Empires except the second one and its expansion, but those were fun. Great for multiplayer. Zonematch and such. Mythology didn't really appeal to me though, and neither did AOE3.

I only count the first game I played with a plot and dialogue: Diablo 1 and that got me into gaming permanently...

Some cheap variation of pong, the console didn't last much so it broke after a couple of months. Then there were some spectrum games but I was too young to remember names (Terra Cresta maybe)

The first real video game was probably super mario bros from NES. I remember that night very well...

The King's Quest game where you played as the king's daughter. I can't remember the number right now. It was really hard because you had to type in commands, and if you used the wrong adjective, noun, or verb you could be stuck for days. This was before there were forums for hints (I think a lot of games had 900 numbers for hints)

That's the first game I owned.  I played a bunch of Atari games with my cousin when I was really young.

I still remember my uncles playing a horse racing (betting) sim on the Atari.  You didn't control anything, you just made bets based on the odds and watched the race.  We thought that was so cool, but then again I was like 4 years old.

Same here.  My first game was Donkey Kong, I was 5.  My favorite game from Intellivision was Burger Time.
