If we are talking about my very first video game then that honour probably goes to The Nintendo Watch game 'Greenhouse'.

As for my my very first 'proper' video game, that would be a tie between the 'Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt' combi cartridge and Super Mario Bros 3 ( my mom bought me my first game console, a NES back in 1990 and it came with these games ).

I think I may have mis understood the topic, I thought we were talking about the first game owned. If this is about the first game I ever played then that would be 'PAC Man' back in 1985.

My first was number munchers. My dad owned a bunch of games on floppy disk(back when they were actually floppy) like Outnumbered, Life & Death, Mario Teaches Typing, and a bunch of other oddities. It wasn't the height of my video game experience, but it was the beginning.

I used to think it was Yoshi's Island. I actually remember it to be Pajama Sam.

Sh*t...I think it was Excite Bike for the NES.  Loved that game.

I grew up in the '80s, so a lot of games were still very simplistic back then.

I honestly can't remember whether the first games I played were on the Atari 2600 or the TI-BASIC computer we had. If Atari, I'm thinking possibly Combat or Breakout. If the TI-BASIC, then either a text game or a puzzle game that I only vaguely remember which involved tracking a monster and then shooting an arrow at it when you figure out where it is. I think the arrow was the only "graphic" in the game.
