Shepard says that "cerberus gave me some data where to find him, interested?" to Liara. If this dlc is set after the suicide mission, why would cerberus give shepard the intel if you choose to blow up the base and leave cerberus?

maybe TIM is more forgiving, than we think?
I just know I'll be paying close attention to the dialogue, myself, when I play it

Cerberus are still an ally even if you do blow up the base- TIM was annoyed but he'll probably get over it. Plus Cerberus and the SB are massive rivals so I'm guessing Cerberus will go to any lengths to take him down.

My own Shepard didn't completely break ties with the Illusive Man even though I blew up the Collector Base. The Illusive Man was furious, but the Reapers are still a threat. My Shepard will still take whatever resources that Cerberus wants to offer. The Illusive Man will still give them because he still believes Shepard is the best hope against the Reapers. Shepard simply made it clear he wasn't the Illusive Man's personal soldier.

Because either Shepard will kill the Shadow Broker (or weaken him, or take the Intel Center, whatever) or ....
Shepard will die in the attempt.
While I don't think TIM wants Shepard dead, I could be wrong. Maybe he's so bitter about losing the collector base that he wants his revenge and to get his ship and Miranda's loyalty back. Maybe he figures the best way to get Shepard "back on the reservation" is to give him something he really wants.
Liara's about the last leverage anybody has left to use on Shepard. The commander has a great ship, a loyal crew, the best team of hardcases in the known universe. There's not a whole lot of carrots to dangle in front of him any more.
More likely, as EDI informs us after the Suicide MIssion, Cerberus has most of its resources tied up in then Normandy 2 and Shepard. Shepard and the Normandy and Shepard's team is the most likely group to be able to take the Shadow Broker.
We'll see soon enough.

I was hoping for one DLC that wasn't connected to Cerberus in any way. But anyway, I figure if Shepard and the Illusive Man are on good terms, there's not much of an issue here. If you left on bad terms, the Illusive Man isn't likely to let Shepard away from his grasp totally. He can still manipulate Shepard in other ways to get what he wants, and I'm sure the Illusive Man would be quite pleased to put Shepard in a situation that gets rid of the Shadow Broker.

Slightly off-topic, but Pacifien! When did you get bumped up to Moderator status???
Congrats!

That's actually one of the lines that's in the game now, but unused. Given that you should never trust a trailer, I'm not sure if it'll actually end up being used. It's also the only bit of the unused dialogue that appears in the trailer.

But now it's said to be playable pre-SM, and we're getting info from Cerberus.
Since the entire reason BioWare foisted us over with the post-SM play in the first place was supposedly to make DLCs more integrated in with people who've beaten the game, I'm getting a little tiring that my end game decisions are basically being ignored in the DLCs.

I think it was mentioned by Chris that this DLC was technically set for after the SM but can be done before.
After a fashion:

Ok, some people have been asking when the Lair of the Shadowbroker DLC "takes place" in Mass Effect 2. As in can you play it before the suicide mission or only after.
I went to the font of knowledge (the Mass Effect writers) and asked them. They said:
"Like many of our missions, you can do the Shadowbroker DLC before or after the suicide mission. However, because we understood that most players would be coming to this after the suicide mission, we weighted the dialog much more heavily toward the assumption that the player had already completed it."
So, you CAN do it before you do the suicide mission, but you'll get a different (and possibly more flavorful) reaction if you play it after.
Hope this makes sense. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

So, it sounds like pre-SM will just give you some variant dialogues. It'll probably be something like what happens if you get to Mordin's "History of the Collectors" conversation before boarding the Collector ship and learning that they were once Protheans.

And it's slowly start to made me disgusting that cerberus IS still "quest giver"
even if this DLC is "placed" in more or less but post C-base time.... and this is rather bad indication that decisions about C-Base fate is as same important as voting that from now white is black and black is pink...cerberus gives me data about Shadow Broker...

I'll be playing it first before the suicide mission since I just started a new adept game, I wonder though if you have to complete those few side quests for Liara on Illium before your allowed to access the LotSB mission? I guess ill find out on the 9th...
My current, but tentative, hypothesis is that the unused Liara audio is what you'll get if you start this pre-SM (by reading the email or whatever) and also haven't gone to Ilium yet. Whereas before, I thought that it was just the original way things played out with her, and they rewrote it for the final release. That might actually still be the case, as they may have simply repurposed the cut lines. I'm iffy on this, though, because the trailer only uses a single line from the cut dialogue and trailers are not always to be trusted. On the other hand, all the DLC trailers so far have been completely trustworthy.

1. I'm like 70% certain the SB is a reaper.
2. Why does it need to come out the day after Labor Day, instead of the day before. Now it conflicts with my school and work schedule.

OK, if the SB is a Reaper, why did the Collectors have to pay for Shep's corpse? It makes no sense. If the SB were a Reaper, Harbinger would have just called up:
"Hey, Dave? Yeah, Harbinger here. Do me a favor?"
"Of course, H-man. How long have we known each other? Name it, and it. is. done."

Hmmm... looks like after all we do pay for cut in game content... despite all "dismissing that claims"
At this point, I hope these conspiracy theorists are right, because they'd clearly rather be right than happy.
Human resourcefullness at complaining is truly limitless.

What amuses me is that the cut Liara dialogue adds up to less than 3 minutes of running time. That's, uh, not a whole lot. We don't even know if they're going to use it all, but if they do, it's still going to be just a small fraction of the dialogue in the DLC, the vast majority of which will be completely new material.
