Hello!

Some time ago I lost a connection with internet for a while. And was unable to play dragon age on my XBox360.
I have downloaded pre-order items and both DLC.

When game started it went to check things as usual, but crashed to contact the EA Servers due to no internet, after that it didn't proceed to check my DLC.

So when I tried to load my saved game it said that it can't find required DLC on my XBox360 (Note: I have only one HDD if it metters), also I options I turned off functions that upload data to EA Servers but it do not fix the problem.

In a couple of days I will move and will not have internet for a while, does it mean that I will not be able to play DA:O all this time? Or is there a work around?

A lot of people are having this problem. For some reason some DLC won't appear unless you're connected to the internet. Then when trying to load the game you will get a message about being unable to access the save due to DLC which is no longer available. The crappest part is it only effects some items, seemingly at random whilst not others (eg. Shale is still fine but the collectors edition items vanish if I'm not connected to the internet. Half of the preorder bonus is there, the other half isn't)

This is something that must be fixed.

This is a single player game, not a MMORPG, so requiring players to be connected to the internet to play the game is just stupid.

Same problem but with PC.

DRM should be deleted, full stop.

It's slightly understandable for PC since it's easy to pirate these kinds of things. The premium content for NWN was this way. But for xbox it's pretty ridiculous seeing as the only way to play a pirated game on it is to mod your xbox which would get you banned from xbox live.

Speaking of banning and DLC, I'm slightly concerned about the DLC achievements. I had 3 of them, then recovered my profile when they didn't show up and now they're gone. It's now possible for me to get the 4th achievement but you can't get 4 without getting the 3rd. It might look like a save game cheat to Live if they don't remember the problem with the DLC in the first few days.

For PC: I unplugged myself from the Internet. Loaded up DAO with a ton of DLC and loaded and played for 1 hour- saved the game. Exited the game. Restarted, loaded up a game, played for 5 for minutes. Exited. Reconnected to the Internet and typed this reply.

Thought I was just having problems with the DLC until I playing on someone elses system.

Both of us can play the DLC quests offline, but can't use our save files with the DAJ unlocks, BD Armor,  and retailer items unless connected to Xbox Live.

Hating this as Comcast is always doing work in the area, and my internet regularly goes down for severals hours to days at a time.

It may be a DRM issue, certain DLC gets tied to the Xbox they were downloaded on not the Live account (stupid yes?), the only way for them to verify the content is by having you live account connected to live. It happened to me with Oblivions content when my first 360 went RROD and I had to return it to the retailer. If that isn't the case then something is very wrong with the way EA monitors its premium content.

I will try to do full install to HDD today and see if it will help.

Yesterday disconnected my xbox again and was unable to play savedgame.

I will try to disconnect internet, start XBox, turn off XBox (this should save in configuration that there is no internet) and power up again without internet. Maybe it will also help, if DA:O is dependent on XBox configuration. (Allthogh my plan really sound stupid)

This is standard operating procedure for XBox; Sacred 2 is the same way.

Has anyone found a fix for the dlc achievements unlocked before they were added to xbox.com, I deleted & recovered my profile, tried restarting from scratch (deleted everything) then redownloaded the dlc through history, so the disc never 'touched' Live.. played through offline, til I got Shale and... nothing, I've earned other achievements since. I'm currently running through the secret Shale achievement to see if that kicks it. The achievement only appears for me on this site

OK the link to the forum post I've sent before describe everything that helped me.

So turn off your internet, go to the HDD (sorry, I use XBox) delete all dlc manualy from there. Turn on internet again. Go to the DA:O game. There in Downloadable Content section redownload everything.

I ran in a slight problem with my bonus items, due to there are two of them (ring and belt) but it had only one file on HDD (item pack 1). So I had to delete file, go to DA:O download belt (it also downloads the ring) go out of the game, again delete item pack 1 go back to the game and this time download the ring.

I have confirmed switzki's method, but you have to delete then re-downloadthe promo item packs each time b/c a different item agreement is tied to each pack; for ex: the CE content (bergen's honor, final reason staff, grimoire of frozen wastes) is tied to pack 1.

I'll try and provide a summary.

With PC, as long as you have a valid cd key installed in your registry, when you login the game will create an offline token which will allow you to continue to play DLC while offline. You can confirm if you have a cd key installed by running the config tool and clicking the 'Game' optoin on the left column. In the lower part of the right window is a window called Product keys, your cd key will be listed there.

For Xbox

The ability to play offline is standard for all Xbox DLC content and arcade games. Only the Xbox that you originally downloaded the content to is able to play content while offline. If you move your hard drive to another xbox or recover your gamertag to another xbox, you will not be able to play DLC content while offline.

Hope this helps.

This is certainly true. Unfortunately, the Promo Item Packs were distributed in such a way that you download the data without the rights to use every item to which you are entitled. For example, if you are entitled to all three DA:J items from Promo Item Pack 2, downloading any one of them will download the entire pack but only give you the rights to the one you clicked on (the Xbox message "Item X has been downloaded"). The solution is to download each item directly to get the rights, which is clumsy and non-intuitive. It's fine to bundle promo items into a single download chunk, but the game shouldn't show additional items from the pack as "Downloaded" unless the user has actually clicked on them to get the rights.
