I have to say, I LOVE the Robe of Vecna.  I only bought Throne of Bhaal a month ago so before I never had access to Deidre.  But I just cannot go through a game anymore without giving those robes to one of my spellcasters.  Are there any other items in the game that decrease spell casting time (aside from Amulet of Power?)

I also love Carsomyr +6, since my favorite class is Paladin, and this sword was just made for righteous buttkicking B)

Your favorite items?

I like the Staff of the Magi. Oh, and for a super easy item to acquire, I really really like the Flail of Ages +3. Extremely useful effect, great damage too when you factor in the elemental damage. Vhailor's Helm is another fave, for a non Simmy casting class =)

Bag of Holding. I'm a dedicated packrat, making that item a godsend. The Staff of Power is fairly nifty too for its Lightning Bolt of Paralyzation. I'm also fond of the Dragon Shield and Helm since paired together it's very easy to attain elemental immunity in at least two categories. My favorite is definitely the bag though.

In ToB I like the staff of the Ram purely for the visual effect of Jaheira sailing opponents across the battle field. In SoA I have to plead guilty to using the Shield of Cheese so I can wipeout a dozen (?) beholders in the Underdark south tunnels without even working up a sweat. But for real work, I prefer Crom Fayr.

That elven long sword that you can't pronounce that does fire damage, extra damage to undead, sets your strength up high and makes you immune to level drain.

The drow chain in the underdark drops casting speed by 1, and can be used by mages and clerics, which is nice because divine spells take ages to cast and clerics can't wear Venca.

I like the club of detonation and harbringer for the ultimate fireball experience. Buff your warriors with fire resistance and just go wild.

Nalia's signet ring.

Edwin's amulet.

Ankheg Armour for Druids.

Celestial Fury.

Blackrazor.

Only just found Shazzelim, wanted to test it out on the Harpers but Jaheria was most displeased. Does anyone know if this works on Drizzt ... wait, is he even a Harper?

Celestial Fury. It makes my Blade a tank.

I'd say Jaheira's knickers, but being a Druid... you know...

K'logarath +4 anything that does "wing buffed" damage is funny and is fine with me.

Surprised nobody had mentioned it yet, but the Cloak of Non-Detection! Stand right behind that pesky mage NPC while he dumps all his memorized True Sights on your head, then backstab him into chunky giblets! Very useful item.

No favourites here. Reason being quite simple. In difficulty enhnancing mods, it takes at least several powerful items to win the encounters.

In vanilla game, there are no more items which decrease casting speed (except Drow Elven Chain). There are two such items (not including armor) in Improved Anvil mod + the Four add-on, but in that same mod, the Robe of Vecna is nerfed to offer only -2 casting speed bonus. Still, -5 total casting bonus should be enough.

As a side note, I once used Shadowkeeper to create some bizarre class combinations...actually, the only thing I did was adding Use Any Item to an Auramaster druidic kit (those have initial -2 bonus to casting speed). So, this particular character had a total of -7 casting speed...needless to say, I played only half an hour with him and then dumped him. Way too overpowered.

i dont remember the name but there was a chainmail that give you total immunity to weapon for a limited amount of time. I dont remember it well because it was my first playtrough ever trough tob but i remember it was with my cleric/mage and he would active the chainmail and then cast one of the immunity spell and become virtually unkillable by anything for a couple of round.

Also carsomyr +6 is always cool lol.

You're talking of the Asylferund Chainmail which gives permanent protection to non-enchanted weapons. If you combine it with Protection from Magical Weapons (mage spell) you are indeed immune to all weapons - but the armor alone cannot do this.

yeah that was it lol. Id cast prot agaisnt mag weapon + all the spell enhencingm my fighthing ability in a sequence then equip the chainmail and activate it and rush into the fray with my crom faeyr + flail of ages lol. It was so retardedly imba. Well mage and cleric are imba by themself and when you combine them its ridiculous.
