So, about that Firepower Pack.

So, the firepower pack has presented me a rather tricksy conundrum for my playthrough as an infiltrator. As I recently acquired both the firepower pack and the Aegis pack, I've access to the Incisor sniper and the new pistols. Now, here's where things get interesting. The Incisor's total ammo count is fairly restricted, meaning players may have to rely less upon them as much.  To counter this, I have two options: do I train in assault rifles so I can use the mattock, something more of a marksman rifle for a slightly overpowered enhancement to my mid range capabilities, or do I obtain the widow and rely more upon sniper rifles than much else? Another factor to consider is the Kassa Locust disclosed on Kasumi's Loyalty. It's recoil is much reduced; in effect, mid range combat comes far easier than with the sodding Tempest, unless of course you burst fire it. Burst firing the tempest still produces high recoil, though.

Discuss.

Personally, I'd only use the Incisor until you acquire the Viper or Widow.  I like it better than the Mantis, since it seems to kill more quickly, but it does burn through ammo and it's VERY infuriating when one of the three rounds miss.
If you like massive power and death at any range, take the Widow for sure.  It's my favorite gun in the game because of how it demolishes enemies.  On top of that, it sounds GREAT.  I'd couple that with the Locust, since that's effective at all ranges, and take the Phalanx as my 'poor man's sniper' if I want or need to save Widow ammo.

If you liked the Vindicator, you'll love the Mattock.  I get the feeling it would match well with the Viper, and in fact I hear a lot of people saying they're almost the same gun.  Mattock would be short to medium ranges, and the Viper would come out for long range.  I'd put the Tempest in as a sort of poor man's shotgun, and then again take the Phalanx.

Have you considered the Geth Pulse Shotgun?  I've heard running around cloaked with a full charged shot is hilarious fun. Posted Image

I wouldn't even use the incisor until the point where you get the viper. Ihat e that gun, and don't really see how using it is isn't more of a personal prefernece as appose to a tactical one. The mantis is better in almost every way I believe. But if you simply prefer it, then use it, it all comes down to what you  find most fun.

Slap the Incisor on your squadmates, take the Widow, and round out your arsenal with the Locust. The Mattock is great, but it truly shines in the hands of a Soldier. As an Infiltrator, you either want to take full advantage of your sniping abilities or go the backstab route with a shotgun.

In the hands of Shepard, the Incisor is just bad. It would be okay if it had, like, 4x the ammo it does now. It's GREAT on squadmates, but you yourself should just go with the Viper or Widow when they become available.

The Locust is probably the best choice of SMG for an Infiltrator. It's a great general purpose weapon with good damage, useable at all ranges with a decent ammo supply.

Infiltrators tend to be running around with low ammo, even more so if you go with the Widow. So for the Heavy Pistol, it should be the Predator or Phalanx. The Phalanx has the highest effective ammo of the pistols, and very high damage per shot, but its rate of fire is frustratingly low, which makes its damage per second the worst of the pistols. The Predator is a bit in between- higher DPS than the Phalanx, higher effective ammo than the Carnifex, but it has low damage per shot.

The biggest choice you face as an Infiltrator is whether to take the Widow, or stick with the Viper and pick up a shotgun. The Geth Plasma Shotgun is truly an amazing weapon, and I don't just mean for the close ranged charged shots (which are hilarious btw). Even the normal shots are great, and I usually use them over the charged shots. The greatest thing is the range though- it's just sick. You can oneshot the shields off an enemy from midrange with this thing, and another shot will kill them or put them in critical. Also makes fights with YMIRs and Praetorians much easier, as you have an anti-shield/barrier weapon that doesn't require you stay out of cover for long.

Agreeing with the above posts - Incisor is a squad weapon. Do not give to Shep. Stick with Viper or Widow.

DPS comparisons:
Vs. Armor: Incisor performed the worst of the bunch, even comparing its headshots to Viper bodyshots (AND with accidental Incisor headshots thrown in for good measure.)
With special ammo vs. shielded enemies - burst fire helped Incisor pull ahead of Mantis, but it was still well behind the Big Two.
