Yeah, so I'm remembering the *hard* way. Let's see ... I've spent about an hour now, fighting and refighting the final battle in an attempt to make the correct dialogue choices.

Y'know, I like DA. But situations like this really take the shine off of it. Really. After this, I'm leaving DA and DAO for awhile ... going back to MAG. Jesus. At least with MAG, you can take your frustrations out on enemy troops controlled by real, live people. (STAY AWAY FROM MY BUNKER!!! No? I WARNED YOU!!! **fires RPG at armored vehicle**)

Hi there. The Alistair Romance&Dialogue Fix Mod adds an option to knock him out so you can kill the AD yourself.

Maybe this is one of the reasons Alistair is a good character. He doesn't do exactly what you want him to do. I think that his willingness to sacrifice himself to save his love is admirable. I applaud BW for creating a character like that. I like to think that if I were in Alistair's shoes that I would do the same.

That was one thing I decided NOT to add to my mod; I love the ending where Alistair refuses to let the warden die. How can you take that away from him? It's the most tragic and beautiful part of the whole romance!

Especially if he dumped you after crowning him. Even more bittersweet.

It's an ending I only took once. And shed tears as I quaffed a bottle of Baileys after the epilogue.

Well, you don't have to choose the Knock Out option of the Mod I mentioned. So either way is possible.

I wasn't saying you had to -- it's just that it's not something I added to MY mod, for the reason I stated above :innocent:

Edit: When that happened to me in my first game, unspoiled (a "Still in Love" Alistair) I cried like a baby, it was so amazing.  It was amazing how much feeling that evoked.  I love it!  The whole end game, wow.

AW, sorry, I misunderstood. But your Zevran Mod...WOW.... As for Alistair's sacrifice.... I cried too. And I usually end up hating Alistair after the Landsmeet.

You didn't say that. You said that is doesn't matter what happens to Alistair because if you do Awakening, he gets executed.

And as stated above, you can convince Anore to exile him quite easily, if you choose her. Which has nothing to do with Awakening. I'm guessing that what you meant was something like 'if you play exactly as I do, making none of the many other possible choices, then Alistair dies, and you see the results of this in Awakening.' Thing is, it does matter to many people, because they don't make exactly the same choices that you do. For example, when I play Awakening, Alistair marches in as king. So...matters.
