What are you implying? <_<

Nothing?

So maybe we get even prettier skirts and even more shiny armor? Whoo!

Templar: I feel pretty!
Hawke: Why are you dressed like a girl?
Templar: Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.

....*ahem* What else? What was I thinking about  again...

Oh, I see.
Hm...
*checks glasses*
Oh, I seem to have had activated denial mode.
But yeah, none of those figures look like a templer. Le sigh.
*holds unto hope for maybe a temporary companion that she may annoy with questions about templars*

Either that or an awesome antagonist type. But that'll probably be puppy and kitten eating territory. Either that or they'll be Space Marine types.
Hawke: We meet again Jeff
Templar: CLEANSEPURGE, KILL!!

The absence of other posters is kinda of disturbing. I haven't scared them off, have I?

I second this. In fact I suggested the same thing her in the thread "Romances for women - what style of character male would you like?" ^_^
According to a blog about the DA2 trailer on greywardens.com, there is speculation about templars having some significant role in the story of DA2. If that's the case, I think the story would became more engaging having a templar as a companion.

Oh God forbid, that would be awful! Though Jeff is an awesome name for an evil templar. I stil hope for a companion though, mage vs templar drama must be had! I just hope that is what they meant with giving the templars a more important role...

I second your opinion in that post, a templar LI would be funny. Especially with a mage Hawke. Oh, the drama. Even with a warrior or rogue there is great fodder for drama there.
I also kind of was: 'Yay! A templar!' when I first heard about Wesley and then came 'Meet his wife' and I was like 'Dang it. Foiled again.'

So, with game footage revealed we can say that Wesley dresses differently from the templars in DA:O, at least slightly. He appears to have different shoulder pads and a darker skirt from I can see in the small blurry footage.

Maybe it's an overhaul of their uniform or maybe Wesley is just special, but I definetely like that new look.

Yes, yes I am.
Muahahahahaha. *dry laugh*

Well, the uniform looks good, Wesley himself has some sort of Alistair-like haircut and dark hair. There still is the falming sword on the breast plate, but the shoulders and the collar look different.
Also the side of the skirt are black while the center in the front is like a red sash.
Maybe I can get a screen shot this time around.

Maybe just Wesley looks different?

At the moment I can't take screenshots, but as soon as he comes up again, I will try to make a good one, maybe even post it in the OP.

Still, I support this change of style.

But why has the pink gone?
People might actually take them serious now.:(

Let's hope the thread comparing the Chantry with Catholic church doesn't spill into this one.

Meh, I wouldn't mind the traffic and like hearing the opinions of others on the matter.

Yeah, they are in danger of being taken serious. We need more Brans to get back to the natural order.

Some people like the tempars, some don't... as long as the opinion is well-worded and explained, I find it interesting
Especially since it's concernign something I rather like and I am pretty vocal about that too, so everybody should have a right to say what they think.

I was refering to the somewhat bigoted posts but I take your point. That said posts which resemble an argument I feel compelled to challenge which usually results in massive, completely pointless, forum debates. Entertaining to watch but annoying to be in. Neither side will budge even the slightest bit of ground.

Do, what you must.

Damn I forgot what I was going to sing. I had it all planned out and everything.

Hmmm What would be worse temporary Templar companion or no Templar companion?

No templar companion would be worse.
A full blown companion would be nice, but I would be happy with a temp character as long as we'd get to know them and talk to them at length.
Not like Ser Otto in DA:O who died so quickly...

Isn't being uncomfortable a good thing? Think of the roleplaying possibilites! You can change the Templar's perspective, throw them in a spiked pit whatever. Generally the best characters are either those the fans love or those they love to hate.

If the Templar has to be temporary, it better be because he dies in an overly dramatic fashion ... like headbutting a pride demon.

I think a templar would be dull because they don't have much to talk about. Alistair was an almost templar. and after a templar becomes a templar, they just sit around "guarding" mages. The most interesting parts of Alistair was his bastard status and the resulting childhood trauma, not the tale of scrubbing dishes in a Chantry.

This is where I would have to disagree. I mean, a person is more than just their job, right? A templar could have tales of witch hunts, of being a young novice and trying to fit in, or how he and his friend Peter learned how to do orgami, whatever
Also not all templars are Circle guardians...

Edit: And here we have the blurry Wesly pictures I promised.

Alistair was not a Templar. He trained as one. Difference. Templars don't just guard mages, they also hunt down apostates. This is based on the numerous item descriptions, Morrigan's stories, and codex page. I'd say that's pretty ineresting. Not to mention the whole moral conundrum you have with the circle tower.

Edit: :ph34r:Ninja Gaidered
Does that armour have Black on it? *sigh* Puppy killing confirmed. Cassandra has black armour, looks evil. Only one conclusion :(

Dear Maker no! Someone spending the whole time talking about how they hunted down mages and how they had emotional problems as a novice in the chantry and generic hobbies they picked up! That's even worse than Velanna. Posted Image

Why not a city guard? They'd be much more interesting as they spend less time in church's praying and get to meet all sorts of interesting types in the streets of major cities. The only interesting templar would be a Spectre style templar, which as far as we know, doesn't exist.
