Hey,
So I have a question. I know that you get the blood mage *SPOILER* from the desire demon in the Recliffe quest line (and I have also heard you can get it from connor... apparently). However, after entering the fade via Jowan's blood magic, when I click on my character's level up screen, blood mage has already shown up, before even talking to the desire demon. Furthermore, no matter what combination of dialoque options that I pick with the desire demon (I have tried asking for blood mage, asking for something to increase talents, asking for pleasure, and fighting and killing the demon) it ends up with me leaving the fade with the blood mage specialization unlocked.
Is this what is supposed to happen? I figured that killing the demon would not lead to blood mage, or asking for something to improve talents might be a talent point, but I can see how that would result in blood magic. Just curious. Could it be because I used Jowan's blood magic to enter the veil?

You unlocked it at some point in a prior playthrough or attempt. Once it's unlocked on your account, it stays unlocked permantly - it's tied to achievements, not savegames.

Oh really? Strange. I figured it would be tied to each character.
Thanks. So out of curiosity, if I had selected something to improve my talents would I have gotten something else? And if so does this prevent me from getting whatever that would be (at least with older save of this char)?

Nope. A common "cheat" is to save, buy a specialization book from a vendor, get the achievement, then reload and save your money.

Alright, thanks. Yeah, it just seems a bit odd to me that you start out with specializations without that character actually having learned it. Ah well, I suppose most people don't do multiple plays through with an identical character anyways.

I initially thought it would be tied to the character too, but it kind of does make sense this way as you likely won't find the specialisations you want by level 7 anyway and unlocking all of them everytime sounds a bit tedious. I see it as an incentive to play again with a different character build...

You can give party members specializations as well, so in the end you would probably have needed to unlock almost all specializations every play through.
