This may have already been discussed before but has anyone else noticed that Liara looks different in the dlc then she does when you meet her on Illium? Its not a major changed, but her lips and the dots on her face were purple in ME1 and on Illium, but in the trailer and screenshots of LotSB they are blue. Also her eyes look different, a deeper blue. I'm just curious why Bioware have done this, it seems pretty random. I would post a comparison shot, but i have no idea how.

hmmm I'm going to get scolded by Strenchen for not getting any rest if she catches me on here haha so I'll make this quick:

Yeah she looks slightly different though the model looks the same to me. I think she looks a lot better now. In the main game if felt like she could use a bit more of an upgrade and now she has it.

I hope her voice is more like in ME1. Don't know the word for it but her voice sounded weird in ME2

yeah her voice did sound a little different, ESPECIALLY when talking to the guy over the display screen. I guess that could have been her tough gal voice though.

It's because she was whispering loudly. Maybe the voice actor had a cold when they were recording her lines.

It's the same voice. Just look up the voice actor and you'll see they did both.

Also the graphic change is great. She 1000000000% looks better.

We discussed this in my character group. Her face has definitely changed over time:

Liara's features look a tad older...Anger, hatred, and revenge, when one looms over these 3 for a long period of time, it begins to take its toll on you.

Its both great and sad to see her again, great that shes back with us, but sad that she had held that grudge for over 2 years devoting all her anger towards the shadow broker, I understand why but there comes a point when a person needs to put the anger and hatred aside and look at it from a "payback" point of view, one that doesnt eat up your soul lol

She doesn't look all that different, beyond the graphical upgrade everyone got in ME2. She's not the only asari we see in the trailer, either, but not all asari are Liara.  The other thing is that lighting makes a big difference on how a person looks, and can alter everything from the color to the percieved shape of their features.

This is purely from lighting differences.  And perhaps a different color of lipstick in the last one.

That sounds like a decent describsion and explanation. I wonder why they couldn't record it later though. Nevertheless, what's done is done

Thanks for posting this pic!!! It shows what i was talking about very clearly, the dots and lips are blue and the eyes are different. I admit the change is for the better, except the new eyes which i dont like. It just seems very random and inconsistent.

It's the same face model, it's just harsh lighting that is reflecting in her eyes, washing out their color.  Also lipstick, which didn't matter in Prothean dig sites but does fit a high-class Illium information broker.

I'm really not sure it's only lighting. There seems to be considerably less baby fat, the lines and angles of her face seem sharper, more defined, and less rounded, and her freckles and eyebrows look different. I agree with the OP.

The skin texture looks a bit more detailed to me.

I would say she's more hardened. A change from her academic look to a fighter.

I figured they made her coloring/makeup intentionally more Benezia-esque.

In the trailer near the begining there is a close up of her eyes, they are definitely different from her eyes on Illium. They are some what like Samara's but deeper blue.

Actually no. While the model is the same, the materials for each of these are unique. They're totally different. Especially the last one. Lighting has nothing to do with it. Updated spec, bump, and diffuse textures, however, do.

I always wished Liara had more of the face tattoos, but that's just me

Vader: NOOOOOOoooooo

New face looks sharper but the details(eyes/lips/freckle color are all "off" now)

If that's just her war face for LOTSB than fine but I do hope BW restores her facial coloring in the future.

I thought Liara looked different in ME2 from ME1. I know she was two years older but didnt look anywhere near as good.
