if you visit http://masseffect.wi...com/wiki/Reaper you will discover that some really bores fan counted 295 reapers in the final cutscene.
How can we kill that many (and possibly more) reapers, when we have, in 2 games, only managed to kill 1 fully operational reaper and 2 that were inches from death anyway?

Maby a giant can of bug spray.  or use the heretic virus on them. Maby somehow use the remains of the human reaper if you saved the base).

Honestly, considering that the Reapers have been around for millions of years and are seemingly immortal, I wouldn't be surprised if they just stayed hidden for a few thousand years until the entire galaxy had forgotten about their existence. They take the scenic route to the Citadel from dark space, then surprise - organics get reaped.

If the galaxy were afforded that kind of time though, I'd probably move the Council off the Citadel, build a network of mass relays independent of the ones the Reapers constructed, then destroy any relics of the Reapers including the Citadel and the mass relays.

While developing technology to actually combat the Reapers, it would probably be smart to colonize several hidden worlds off the grid like Ilos. These could function as research bases or organic species "seed banks" which could be used to start over in case the Reapers successfully complete another "extinction" cycle. Once the Reapers retreat again, maybe organics will have a better shot if they can stay focused and spend 50,000 years planning.

Some ideas gathered in these forums or in lore:

-We infiltrate one of their ships and upload a virus.

-We show them all seasons of Battlestar Galactice; The Re-Imagined series and say we cloned Admiral Adama

-We implant Joker with cyber bones and make him the next Terminator and build him a GundamWing Exosuit so he can fight them

-We dismiss their claims

-We integrate them into our systems. Resistance is futile

-We shoot cotton-balls at 1.3% of light speed at them and watch how they laugh themselves to death

-We challenge them to explain the Heisenberg-Prinzip to the technically illiterate

-We manufacture giant space-nylon nets and catch them like Squids and give them to Warlord Guld for delicacy-dinners

-We let Grunt answer them one question for each Reaper

Take your pick!

If any of those happened, I would cry. Especially the first one.

I say we strap Udina to a rocket and program it to stop just short of the leader reaper. Udind starts talking, Reaper fleet blows up, takes udina with them. Win-win

No. We will get to flirt a little and probably have a one night stand, but actually take them out? The other LI's would get jealous :P

I think the Alliance has taken most of the wreckage of sovereign and paul grayson and has been studying them so they can build a superweapon. That was the idea I got from retribution.

Somehow, when I read the title, I think of Shepard posting a thread on an extranet forum... *cough*

Posted this many months ago, and it is relevant here:

"On a side note, I firmly believe that if Bioware is smart, tactically and strategically, the geth fleet will be the main offensive force against the reapers. Consider that the Reapers have weapons that can tear a human vessel in half and kinetic barriers that allow them to literally plow through turian ships without incurring damage. You would need either a multi-generational leap in technology or a method of avoiding the reaper's weapons as well as taking down it's kinetic barriers. In my mind, the neural network-linked geth could coordinate fleet wide precision ftl jumps, negating the reaper weapons advantage by never giving them a firing solution. In order to take down the shields of the reaper you would need a boarding party that isn't vulnerable to indoctrination, ie the geth because of their inability to be hacked for any length of time, to destroy the mass effect core of each individual reaper. Every time a geth ship came out of FTL they'd fire at a reaper allowing the boarding party to get in range. The quarian, krogan, and rachni forces would be in charge of evacuation and ground assaults with the quarian flotilla in charge of evacuating turian, human, asari, roloi (the new race), and any other race with a similar form factor and the Rachni in charge of evacuating the elcor and volus, because of the need for larger halls. The krogans don't have ships and would be in charge of fighting any species the Reapers managed to ally themselves with, alongside the rachni ground forces and human, turian, asari, and salarian militaries.

At least that's how I would do it, It makes the most sense to me with what I know now, but bioware will probably throw in some new information that makes fighting the reapers considerably easier. Oh well."

Whatever the writers at Bioware come up with I hope they're careful. How this element of the storyline plays out has the potential for disaster if Bioware is not careful.

The storyline of the Mass Effect games have been great so far, it would be a shame to see them fall flat because of a weak conclusion.

It would actually be pretty badass if they ended ME3 with a loss. You barely beat soverign with an entire fleet. It would suck if there was some super weapon that wins the day. There is In game lore about that happening but that is just 1 or 2. Im not saying calling blank slate but it would be awesome to fight a losing battle once the fleet finally arrives.

That could be an epic cliffhanger. game ends on an image of shepard's corpse in front of a window over-looking the spacebattle waging outside, where it appears that the reapers are dominating. That'd make me buy ME4

It doesnt have to end as a cliffhanger but yea that would be awesome! Im just so sick and tired of the "OMG WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!" games that suddenly have super robo jesus flying in to say the day. Then they all hold hands and skip around the galaxy eating cookies.

Just want to see a different ending myself. I doubt that BW would end on a cliffhanger for ME3 but I would really like to see a company finish off their game with a losing battle. Hell's highway did and I actually liked that (yes i know the history behind it). But, its not the end of a trilogy.

We use the mass relays as giant cannons and fire ships straight into the reapers .

1 ending will allow for you and all your squadmates to live. another will end with people dying. a third will be flatout defeat, end of everything. thats how it should be.

sick of games that force the main character to sacrifice himself. if these characters were so badass they'd be able to survive once in a while.
