is it possible in Dragon age to actually load scripts into an area like it was for NWN? for example an earthquake with physical resistance script, or something like "you are in a bad area, you take 1 point of damage every X seconds" or "all fire spells here double damage"?

There is no caching required as I believe all resources tied to an area are loaded simultaneously.

The first two can be done using a heartbeat script. The last one can be done via local variables.

There is always a way to do what you want with scripts :)

It is worth pointing out however that the last thing ties into abilities. There is a lot of moderately complex scripting going on to govern the use of abilities in the original campaign, and it may take some time to get your head around. To get 'all fire spells do double damage', you would have to edit the script of every ability that uses fire damage. So that's probably not a good one to start with. :P The others are much easier in comparison.

But, reach for the stars.
