I've looked all over the forum and I cannot find out any information on the way in which these forums handle banners.
Are original images scaled down? If so, to what proportions? If not, what are the maximum dimensions allowed?

Okay I can answer this one. Go Me!
okay the max size for a single image in the sigbar is 500x35 how ever you can get around that by cutting the image in to four parts
on the top put two images {500x34}{110x34}
and on the bottom put two {500x15}{110x15}
so there for by cutting an image in to four parts as described you can get a bigger signature,
it really can be any combination of sizes as long as you don't go over the limits

The original image was 600x100, so I scaled it down to 300x50 and split it into 300x35 and 300x15. It doesn't seem to want to align, though it looks fine on my forum settings window.
This seems entirely unnecessary, though I shouldn't be surprised given the overall quality of these forums.
I may have to make a new image despite having the same signature for many years now. =(

Yeah with the way that image is proportioned you would have to scale it to 300x50 then cut it to
300x34 on top and 300x15 on the bottom
300x34 on top and 300x15 on the bottom

That is exactly what I did, but the bottom is somehow longer than the top only on my posts and not in my forum setting page.Celrath wrote...

It looks like the image quality is a bit worse on those. I'll just make a new one. Thanks for filing me in on the dimensions.

Have you tried just making each one 25 tall instead?

Yeah, that worked, though you can barely see the images at this resolution. Then again, I doubt anyone without a working knowledge of MTG knows what they are, anyway.filaminstrel wrote...
