Nathaniel as a romance option for lady Hawke?

I was looking at the thread of Nathaniel in DA2 and was thinking I wonder if he will be one of the options?

On that note, no, thank you. This is a new story, and I want new characters that I can form my opinions on as I play the game. Some people will come into that game hating him, or disliking him, or even loving him. I want a blank slate unaffected by past experience.
Besides that, can you imagine how insanely pissed you'd get when you played Awakening and there he is, flirting with Velanna? He can die in your playthrough as well.
I believe he's a temporary companion.
Edit: Also, Viceroy, that isn't the same. That's a "what if" sort of scenario for types of guys they'd like. Not exactly a particular person that we already know about.

What type of guy do you want?
Nathaniel
Right, that's my point.
Nathaniel is a type of guy, not a particular companion you have a history as a player with. And as a frequenter of that thread, almost all of the discussion is about wanting a particular sort of a guy, be they similar to another character or not.

Though I liked Nate in Awakening, I think he belongs there and even though he is supposed to have a cameo in DA2, it would be too short to really start anything feasable.
He actually spent a year in Kirkwall "walking around"--that sounds a lot like a companion, to me. Temporary, however.

I don't understand the attraction. Anders was more interesting than Nathaniel.
I agree and disagree. Anders is a lot like Alistair, only with less character development and no romancing. Nathaniel is unique to your companions, as well as having a very close personal tie with a Cousland character, that makes him instantly more interesting.

I don't see the harm in including specific characters under the same topic but whatever. It's biowares forum, if they want a cluttered forum with several threads discussing subtopics of one another let them have it.

could have met you, then went back to Amaranthine, stayed a while then left to
wonder the world and you meet him again on your travels... it is a possibility.
He was an interesting char, I understand why there wasn’t romances on Awakening
(even though I really like having the chance to romance the NPCs it seemed
right not to romance anyone since everything was happening too fast) but he definitely
was the type that grows on you... like Anomen:whistle:

True, but devs said that you import your choices from awakening, so this could make the difference between having a chance or not... I mean, it is not impossible...

I don't think they'd make a romance who might die in your playthrough because of a previous playthrough you did. Besides, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't make a romance that flirts with other girls the instant he's out of your sight, as well as one whom we already have impressions upon.

Lol...what about Zevran?... he flirts with everything that moves and he doesn´t even get out of your sight to do it.
Can´t argue your other points... I know it is not probable (a lot of work for half the people), I said it wasn´t impossible

I have never killed him through the play through and usually bring him with on the last siege. Afterwards....well if you have played through that route you know. I hope that it is possible to romance him, he was a very interesting character with alot more to him than was revealed I think

Yes! Exactly! I don't mind seeing old characters again, but I want to interact and travel with new ones.
New is shiny and fun.

Anomen grows on you like a fungal infection.
And I think Nathaniel should be a romance for a male Hawke.
Seriously though, he's probably a temp copanion you have for a while until he heads back to Ferelden to join the wardens. Or die. But who seriously kills Nate? He's like the best character in that expansion.

And Anders doesn't even make the meter flicker for me- rather the opposite. It's a completely subjective thing.ErichHartmann wrote...

As for whether Nate should be an LI in the new game, since it's bound to be a doomed romance, not sure why people want it unless they're just looking for a roll in the hay. Which wouldn't be bad I guess, if you like that sort of thing. Not every DA romance has to be true love forever.
