Nevar! I went in expecting Hale to do something like Bastila instead of going "THIS LUUKS USEFULZ" in a G.I Jane voice.

I like it. It might just be because I have a softer voice myself, but I vastly prefer 'stronger' sounding voices. But hey, compromise! Female Hawke's voice actor can alternate between normal sounding and incredibly gruff I'm looking at you, Murdock.

I am with ya Davey. No more forced and exeggerated/anime-dub/heavy-smoker Femshep. Bastila and Mazzy Fentan is the way to go!

Why do so many people forget Shepard was a soldier?

Anyway, do they have any events planned to show or what?

That went through some... traumatic experiences involving space, and decaying orbits, and atmospheric re-entry, and tubes, and nano-bots, and ... (opening sequence of ME2).

Shepard is a soldier.  She can act gruff, because it's in character.

Gaider has said that this attitude will not fly for Hawke.  Of course, he's just the lead writer.  Not sure how much that counts for anymore, what with the dollar signs DA2 seems to be pointed at.

Bioware will, someday.

Probably three days before release, like ME.  Or never, like ME2.

I haven't forgotten, it's just... I don't like the voice myself, I had went in expecting a more feminine voice (such as Bastila, due to Hale doing it) and then found myself with a voice that sounded like it was being forced a lot of times. I wasn't able to take Hale's performance seriously due to many times she sounds forced (to me) or.. there's this.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but you're still weird for not liking her voice. ;)

I'd like to point out that just because default Female Hawke has a hairstyle you don't like, that doesn't mean that if you want a different hairstyle, you cannot go forth and choose a different hairstyle for your own Hawke.

That is awesome. I assume that means you can actually edit the default face, unlike in Mass Effect where you either chose default face or custom. Either way, that's a nice feature. =]

I know I'm weird. I liked Meer's performance (ME2 except for a few scenes).

Personally, I thought Meer's performance was forced and monotonous.

I agree. The voice just... hurt my ears. I couldn't help but feel "This is just all wrong!" whenever I heard FemShep talk. I would have loved a Bastila-esque voice.

I love FemShep's voice. I would have been disappointed if she sounded like Bastila. But I don't really want a supersoldier voice for my Hawke. I'm pretty confident I'll be satisfied with whoever was cast though.

Sorry for not jumping into the same fan bandwagon but uuuh, do I count as an outsider if I don't like her voice at all?

Everyone says there is a lot of emotion in the female shep performance. All I hear is devoicing the last 2-3 syllables and very unreal intonation (no curves characteristic for English). I think Meer did a better job being neutral, although it does sometimes come through a bit dull (while Hale is just forced). /harsh opinion

Now as for the Lady, I hope they hire someone who just doesn't sound like that.

MEER IS WAY BETTER THAN HALE!

That said, I am very curious as to who is voicing lady hawke. We already have it narrowed down to a couple of people with male hawke.

Is it like Mass effect again? Where Male Hawke/Shepard is this super high detailed person modeled after an actor, while female Hawke/Shepard is just made using the generic character creation tools?

Well we have no hints about the Lady. We only have some good guesses for Male Hawke because of Gaider's caprice.

Doubt it, the bioware people are talking like FemHawke was made for FemHawke.

This is how conversations always work right?

"What do you want for breakfast?"
"Ham and Eggs"
"I have high cholesteorl"
"You should get lipitor"
"I saw a Lipitor commercial on TV watching SyFy"
"SyFy had an ad for Mass Effect."
"I think Hale's voice work is better than Meer's in Mass Effect"
"I saw Haley's commet the other day"
"I need a 2x4"

At least it hasn't diverted to breast pulling.

That will come soon enough.   If we get to see the rest of the body. :innocent:

If her breasts are tense enough you won't be able to do that. Bethany, on the other hand, looks all soft and flaccid.

Bethany: You pretend you're so cool, but my breasts were always bigger then yours.
Hawke: Yeah, but men don't like when they're like formless rotten melons with big blue veins.

Bethany disapproves -30.

can't believe i just read that:o
