What I am most glad to see is that the armor/robes don't vary wildly from male to female. I'm really happy to see LadyHawke in the same cool armor that ManHawke gets.

Hawke is in no way related to Flemeth, Maric, or Andraste.

Also Varric is so smooth he can exaggerate his looks even in real life.
