Now the fellow who was speaking earlier--Dan? Not irritating at all. They really should have guys like him talk more, and marketing people talk less.

Yeah, he's also the voice in the background of the live chats telling David Gaider 'not to answer that' and the like. He's annoyed me ever since he went into far too much detail and spoiled one of the origins in an interview before DAO was released.

Well he was cool. But if he's the one behind the Spartan Lithe Ninja General Assasin Awesome Happens PR stuff I'll change my opinion in a really drastical way.
I was just about to say that I bet a lot of the things I have really disliked about the marketing, and maybe some of the new direction start there, although that's probably unfair. That's a big assumption to make based on enthusiasm for the godawful 'spartan' thing and a generally irritating manner. Maybe I just want to blame him.

edit: and I don't really like the wording of the marketing either, the whole "spartan vs ninja" and "by any means necessary" crap, although I can see the point they're trying to get off with those statements, and it doesn't bother me. It's just the way they say it-- it's really.. it sounds like it's aimed at people who aren't me, let's put it that way.

Can someone please recap any interesting bits from David's last Q&A? I went out to dinner and missed it.
=(
He actually answered WAY more questions than I thought he would. I hope somebody was able to capture it, because there was a whole lot of juicy information.

I just want to say thanks to David and Sebastien for doing the live chats, it was pretty cool and got a fair amount of insight despite having to dance around spoilers. David's sinister eyebrow raising added to the whole spectacle immensely.

lol at the Anora bits. It makes me so much more happier knowing that I never put her on the throne. Turns out not even Cailan wanted her on it.
That and she could kill my bro/romance with Alistair. No way that is ever going to happen Achievement or not.

DG: "The Imperial Chantry doesn't believe--it interprets the part of the chant that says magic is meant to serve man, not to rule over him. The way they interpret that, serving mankind can mean ruling, because the Magisters in the tevinter Imperium, they do--they're in a position of power--in this case, they look on it as they rule, in order to serve. They serve the greater good by ruling, and the thing that's prohibited, is to be using your power for personal gain. A lot of people feet that in the Imperium, the Magisters sort of pervert that, but again, in the Imperium, the Circle of Magi is in control of the Imperial Chantry, so the Magisters, in a way, dictate what Imperial dogma is followed, so you can imagine how that goes. Elsewhere, a lot of people use the Imperial Chantry as justification for why the Circle of Magi elsewhere in Thedas acts the way it does, because it feels that mages can't watch themselves, because if they do, the mages that are most powerful will dictate who's being watched to do what, and the mages that are most powerful are generally the ones that are performing blood magic, so that's how it becomes a problem."

I think it was kinda cool they did this. Makes the non-PAX attendees feel a little more happy and fuzzy inside. Made some good laughs too. Though when live interviews weren't going on, it felt like I was one of those people that sit and stare at a security camera monitor all day. Somehow it gets past the boredom state and becomes mesmerizing.
I actually almost fell asleep because i had hit the mute button.

When they did that at Gamecom? Con? In germany I actually thought something was wrong.
All I was seeing were the necks down of people wondering through booths. I was thinknig 'Hey you guys left the camera on!"
It seems I wish I would've saved some money and gone to Pax in settle. I figured I wouldn't need to as I already enjoy the first pax east in boston. A lot closer to where I live.
