some more character ones like miranda or grunt would sell well IMHO.

I'll still snap up these two, but should I take these relatively drab selections as evidence that we are scraping the bottom of the lithograph barrel?

Like many other forumites, I'd love to see some additional character specific ones, but I guess it all depends on what was originally created by the art team.

personaly i like these lithographs as concept art but they are not interesting enoegh for me to drop money for them. (wish i had gotten citadel, omega and minuteman though).

i know there are some awesome pictures sitting on bioware's art servers for mass effect 2. what i think they are doing is getting the more dull ones out and then after that getting a new awesome one which will likely sell big (like normandy). I dont think these litho's will sell out right away. but when they release a new and awesome litho like normandy interest in these lithographs is renewed and people will be more inclined to buy the ones that are still left in the bioware store. simple marketing really.

i wont be getting these unless someone gifts them to me but i eagerly await the next one :)

I'll buy them just for the sake of buying them, but I have to agree that I am not all that excited by them. Nice artwork, but it doesn't pop for me.

We are not required to love everything Bioware puts out. I like these, I am sure I will buy them, but I can't help but feel like there are better options for new lithos.

The last one was a starship, you couldn't expect this one to be one, too. Sure, character litho would have been nice (considering the wonderful stuff that Mr. Rhodes still has in his cabinet), but I take what I can get. Nope, they probably won't sell out immediately, but then there's less whining or sadness from the "loosers". And pleasant surprises for those who'll order one (just have a look at Korlus).

---

Mass Effect settings always have been among my most favourite art - since the release of the Art of Mass Effect, that is. The other being creations by a deceased painter, by a very old but nevertheless brilliant artist, and by an artist that is most famous for his title logo works for a game series that is highly unpopular within these forums. Those three are more expensive to get your fingers on, so while ME lithos are released, I get them - all of them. So I do not have to pay large sums later to get my cold fingers onto some youth... ehm... early adult memories. ^.^ The images still hit my nerve and while some may be a bit too dark for salvation, I really like the execution. They don't look like digital art.

Then you are free as a pig in a meadow to say you love these lithos, if people don't feel the same way, that is their right.

I love those lithos as well. They aren't "drab" anymore than ME2 itself is a drab game. Honestly I would say they are considerably more atmospheric than any picture of the Normandy. The Normandy was ok, but to be quite frank, I don't understand why you'd want "concept art" that looks like a screenshot out of the game.

If this were the true art world, I'd be a fan of Monet, and you'd be a fan of Thomas Kincaid...neither one is "wrong", but my choice is better :-P

I really like the two wallpapers posted, but anything related to Purgatory/Pragia I'd be interested in. I'll be getting both, as usual.

Hmm... Hey Jedi, is the release number going to be 300, 400, or 500 this time (and likely the Tali time)?

Yeah, the Shadow Broker's ship and Hagalaz pretty much made me rub my eyes and me question my sanity. Something as amazing as that view would be the centrepiece of a lesser game, but Bioware did it for DLC. I'd buy that lithograph a hundred times over.

Uuuh, someone's still is in very bad mood... listen, Charles, I never wanted someone to love these lithos, too, I only wanted people to not hate them, and not express their disatisfaction so negatively. To be more open-minded even if lithos show up that are not for them. If you would please allow me the same liberty, it would be great. So don't assume I denied them any right. And allow me please to be "a pig in a meadow".

edit: the post above your "pig" post is not directed at you, just so you know. It was created at the same time as your previous post, and submitted only minutes after it - because it took longer to write it.

That's my deceased painter. (according to Wiki Thomas Kincaid was the first golf instructor, so to say; the painter is called Kinkade. ^.^)

Me too. I'd love a Shadow Broker's Ship/Hagalaz lithograph. The design of the ship and the planet's atmosphere was simply amazing.

Not in a bad mood at all, that was the only phrase I could think of, I didn't mean it to be insulting. It just seems like I very often find you getting annoyed with other people's opinions. Some of us don't love these lithos, if you do, then you are as free as a pi..... beautiful horse in a meadow to have your opinion, but know that others feel differently.

Nobody is trashing the art or the decision. We are just saying that, while we like the art, we may have hoped for something else.

These two are def. in the "meh" category in my opinion. Too drab, not enough color, and the locations did not stand out as memorable places during the game. My opinion

Oh Guys and Gals - Here is an a question for you. I am know in possession of a very cool, very likely to sell fast, character Lithograph. (Its not Tali)

My question to you is would you like it released this month or next? We haven't had characters in a while. Thoughts on releasing two or three this month?

Thanks,

J

No issues with a tri-release this month with me, but I know others might not feel the same.

If you do three with this release, will there only be one in the next?  Just trying to help people who might be on the fence understand the short and intermediate term impact on their wallets.

This month is fine, saves me a little bit on shipping. I am hoping it's Wrex, he seems like the most popular non-Tali character to not have his own litho. There have also been a disturbing lack of Krogan lithos so far.

release them now! I'd rather get them sooner than later.

My only concern is that there might be too many lithos being released overall. Of course I'm all for more but you don't want to oversaturate the market. IMO stuff like pragia and purgatory don't need to come out. Maybe hold off on the less popular ones and focus on producing better quality more sought after lithos (more character ones, shadow broker ship, etc.). I mean look how fast Normandy sold out compared to Korlus/Collectors and it had 500 copies!
