her name is zorah... so if she's apart of the crew then why is her character emotionally affectionate towards shephard? why isn't their character behaving in a platonic professional manner? i find the theme highly inappropriate.

Because to quarians, "crew" is almost synonymous with "family" it seems.  That and long association with Shepard.  This is even absent a romantic relationship.

She is definitely the chief engineer. Ken and Gabby make comments about how they like their new Quarian boss. Also it makes sense, considering she was an engineer on the previous Normandy, naturally, she'd be promoted after two more years of experience working in the field, and because of her background working with Shepard.

....yep, trolling.

Tali is the Chief Engineer.

Engineer Donnely describes her as "our new quarian boss".

but he's been there before her and all. i call her zorah. proper real name.

Tali is her name. Zorah is her family. Normandy is her ship. Tali'Zorah vas Normandy. Tali, of family Zorah, of the ship Normandy.

Someone else asked you this in another thread: Why do all of your posts make you sound like you're high? <_<

well ms zorah is more appropriate.

Who cares guys. Her name is Tali'Zorah vas Normandy/Neema nar Rayya. John Smith can be referred to as John or Mr. Smith. It makes no difference.

You’re really stuck on formality. Mass Effect itself shows that the universe doesn’t have time for it. You may START as part of the military, but by the end of the second act the military along with every government you were ever affiliated with has declared you dead. Even upon learning you’re alive, the Council sees you as nothing but a nuisance.

Commander Shepard has no time to waste on formalities. He/She is desperately trying to save the galaxy the best way he/she knows how. Gathering a group of ragtag psychotics and mercenaries composed of anyone that’ll listen. Making friends in the process.

Besides, given Tali’Zorah’s personality and relationship with Shepard, and how honored she is at the end of her loyalty quest to be called vas Normandy, I think she’d actually take offense to Shepard calling her by anything but her first name.
