The new patch arrived on my Mac yesterday and the game seems more stable and maybe slightly quicker (wishful thinking?).

However, I have to login to Bioware every time I start the game to authorise downloaded content. Things didn't happen like this before. It's no huge deal but it would be good if this could be fixed.

Thanks

PS - many thanks for Mac Awakening  :)

I didn't have to relogin, but it seems that I had to wait a bit longer for whatever process logs me in in the background to complete. So maybe try waiting a bit?

thanks - I'll try that. Maybe I'm just too eager to go adventuring :)

Usually, waiting a few seconds does the trick.

Since 1.04 patch, if I try to reload my saved game, I get a message that my saved game must be used by an owner of premium content. I am an owner of such content, and if I go to the DLC tab, it shows all the premium content enabled. What can I do? Waiting, logging out then in, does nothing.

I am having the same problem, though my dlc now says "unauthorized" on the dlc tab.

Anybody have a fix?

Here was my fix.

1. Try a bunch of times, fail, post on the board.

2. Give up, go grocery shopping.

3. Come back home, eat, try again - wait 30 seconds after logging in, and voila!

I wait 30 seconds and then it works. Just seems to take a bit longer to authorize.

Yep, I'm also experiencing this problem. Waiting doesn't seem to work.

Strangely, while I'm still on 1.0.3, I was kept "logged out" the whole day yesterday (and couldn't log in manually). Maybe the DA servers are overloaded, and it's not a 1.0.4 fault??

I receive that error message frequently - it doesn't mean anything, just proceed with your game. All of my downloaded content works perfectly after receiving that error message.

Really strange, on my side, everything is authorized except for RtO.

I read this was a bug (the authorization problem) also some PC users had.

Bleh, so this means you cannot play DA when your internet connection has died? :(

Don't worry. I just unplugged my internet connection, started the game, loaded and played without problem. (including premium content)
There must be another reason for the authorisation problem that some are experiencing... the DA servers are a bit lagging sometimes. From time to time, I get the "Unable to contact DA servers" notice or something like that in mid-game.

The "Common issues and troubleshooting index" (first sticky topic on the PC board) often offers some hints as to what could be wrong, at least on the PC side (which we get included in a nice Cider wrapper...). You may want to read through the following post, especially (scroll down) section No. 5:

"DLC is unauthorized and the game won’t let me load my saves."

I have on three occasions had problems with my online DA player profile being full, with too many screen-shots and characters. This prevents any automatic updating until I go in there and delete stuff to make room.

Maybe this is why some others are having problems?

With this I solved the problem:

None of that works, my content is still unauthorized

This can often be caused by a problem writing to the My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\profile.dap file. Make sure that the file is writable. You can also try renaming the file to something else, and forcing the game to regenerate it, which it will do the next time you log in. Achievements are also stored in this file, so you want to make sure you don't delete the old version until you're sure everything is working. If your achievements have been uploaded to the social site they will be redownloaded to your computer when you log in.

Tried fabiodatax's suggestion and it worked like a charm.
