Hate to spam with questions here, but did anyone ask about the length of the game or how much content is in it compared to Origins?

Same answer as before. Less than Origins, more than Awakening. He said he wouldn't give a definate number because play times will vary. Like how some people finished the DA:O in 20 hours and some in 100.

Or whether they have some grand plan with the overall history of DA and Thedas?

He said yes. It kind of seems like they have the general outline of what will happen, but need to decide what events are going to be portrayed in the games and what they want influenced by the player.

This question has been answered, sort of. If I remember correctly David Gaider said that it will be "longer than Awakening but shorter than Origins", but that he can not pull out a number out of ..., basically it is too early to say, and it also depends of how you play the game. He commented about how some said they finished the game in 20 hours by "I hope you got something out of it."

less gaming-length in da2 than in origins confirmed :*(

tactical camera sounds like a downgrade from the origins tactical camera (though we haven´t seen any screens or gameplay with the new one yet)

the more information i get, the more im worried about the direction bioware took in da2

-_-

Less spells, so what there are a lot of useelss spells in DAO and the system sounds better in that you can upgrade some of your spells. Less gaming length we already knew.

I got four or so questions answered.
I asked how old Varric was. (30 something, he says)
I asked where Barkspawn was. (With the warden, he says)
I asked if the pirate lady was Antivan or Rivaini. (Rivaini, he says)
I asked about the darkspawn becoming more human. (*eyebrow waggle*, he says)

I'm glad I still managed to come across this topic and hear David for a good 10 minutes, I enjoyed finally hearing the unexpectedly jolly voice behind the face. Now I still want to see Mary and Sheryl, whom I imagine to look like goddesses.

The girls only come out to play on the forums.

With good reason, I take it. Posts like mine being one of them Posted Image

He didn't have to answer the game length question, as it already has been answered. Yes, it will be shorter.

If you're upset with the game, cover your eyes now before I say.

Pretty much the exact phrase given for game length was "ME2 length." Supposed to be 20-30 hours. This being the developer numbers which are almost always inflated, too, by the way.

By default there would be less gaming time as you can only play as a human.

Well, since people like that one so much, I capped the hell out of his face, just so I could use it against you guys (for the power of good!) in the forums...here they are.

Oh, you have -no- idea what kind of plans we have. After all, you can't make a game about changing the world if you don't know what kind of change is coming, can you?

If anyone's trying to compile what we learned from the chat, here's the questions and answers I got:

I asked if there would ever be a cinematic trailer featuring Lady Hawke - he said maybe, but he would certainly like to see it happen.
I also asked if Lady Hawke's voice actress was in Origins. He said he thinks she was, but in a very minor role. (Someone asked the follow up question after: was her voice actress in Mass Effect 1 or 2, and he answered with a much more affirmative yes.)

Hawke = Blood Mage by default (and presumably Arcane Warrior unless Mages can use sword staves in general),

I seem to remember reading that staves are now melee weapons.

That would explain that, and it certainly makes sense. I've lost count of the amount of times I've wanted to whack a Darkspawn over the head with my Mage's staff in Origins (Gandalf style). At the very least I can see them being an alternative to 'normal' staves.

One word: MARKETING. Everything will be announced according to a marketing shedule.
