Dateranoth came up with this little piece of info:

Download the EADM:

http://eastore.ea.com/eadm

Install
it and then run it. Click the login tab and then  log in to your
EA account. Should be the same account you use to login here.  Next
click the activation tab. Activate your copy using the Key provided to
you by Direct 2 Drive.  Next goto downloads and it should show up as
already downloaded with the option to play.

After you buy something, you cant return something due to buyers remorse as the game clearly works. The only thing you can do is ask your disrtubator, but i think i know what the answer would be.

i have the same problem i would also like a refund, i bought it of steam i do know steam policy but i still think its wrong, and faulty products should be returned, its not my faul theirs some type of conflict with my grafics card (ati 4870x2) and DAO, also my PC passes the recomended specs so there is no reason for it not to work.

If i had bought it in a store i would have already been refunded, only thing to do is apresent your case to consumers defence or whatever u call it in your country.

i was going to buy mass efect 2 when it came out, but no way am i going to support bioware and EA ever again.

This is pretty unrealistic. I don't think the company is going to bankrupt itself refunding everyone. And I think what you really want is a good game with good downloadable content. This might take a little bit, as it is a new game. The core game works well enough, and the DLC problems will just take a bit of time to resolve. Which would you rather have, a bankrupt company, or a game that works?

I know the problems suck, but have some patience. I paid for the content and I know I will get it. As a matter of fact I expected issues on release, because thats the nature of dynamic content.

The core game doesn´t work... The game hasn´t worked one second for me.

Kyllswytch - you kinda said it yourself there m8.... Why would the company bancrupt itself refunding everyone? Exactly..... if everyone here who has problems with the game requested a refund, Bioware would INDEED go bancrupt. Far too many ppl have far too many problems getting to play this game. Something I don´t think Bioware is taking serioulsly. Atleast answer us when we use the support contact. But nothing.....

Gizzt - In my heart I know they´re not gonna refund me..... I´m just aggrevatet :-)

Kyllswytch - You actually believe in buying something now and getting the product some unknown time in the future? Dynamic content or not.....I don´t. I want something for my money..... ANYTHING!!!!! ;-)

Well, I guess Bioware won this round.

i am using win 7 ultimate i did a couple of weeks ago, i also installed driver genius so i could update the latest drivers so i would be sure it wasnt that, i have fallout 3, left 4 dead, TF2, cs:s  installed and they work fine, only problem i can see is probably some software thats in conflict.

The core game does NOT work. That is the problem. I am playing this on a console, the exact same console (PS3) as countless other people. It is not like I can update a driver on a PS3. The bug in the game made it impossible for me to continue. I finally did stumble on a way around it, by playing a different party member and turning off all sound in the game. I ****ed around with it for hours, beat that stupid boss 15 times before I got it to work. THAT is a serious bug in the game and it is something that EA/Bioware needs to address that they are totally ignoring. It is bull****.

Yea , i proablay should have worded what i said a little better,

I meant that there not gonna refund because there is no physical fault with it and it works for most other people so it counts as buyers remorse because you cant prove a fault. (i am apart of a policial party that would allow this to not happen i.e. wasting money on software that doesnt work)

The reason why it wont work is usually a hardware or software fault which is out of their control. Either your hardware isnt up to scratch or some driver issue, or something else on your computer during something screwy. Im sorry its just the way it is and i would like it changed as well.

However in this case, i have seen them forgetting to put some microsoft c++ runtime 2005 thing in the main game which is causing problems. Techinally its still a misconfiguration tho. http://social.biowar...58/index/139102 is what im refering to

Sorry :/

honestly, i don't think anything is wrong with the game.  I have the steam version, same graphics card as you.

ATI 4870x2, itworks flawlessly.  I can run everything on 1900x1200, very high setting, anti-aliasing 4x and i get 60 fps (vsync enabled) except during huge fights so i tend to keep AA at 2x.

it worked the second it finished downloading.  if I were you, i would try re-installing your copy

this may not be the place to talk about this, maybe it is...  everyone's been complaining about their DLC not working.  my DLC didn't work right away because I wasn't properly logged into the game and the server that redeems the codes was not working or was overloaded.  I waited maybe 2 hours while watching tv, then tried again and everythign worked perfectly.

i personally have helped several people via PMs that claimed their DLC was not working and it was broken, and the game sucked... most of the problems we have come across are due to the person not logging in automatically when the game launches.  I'm referring to the lower left hand corner in the game you can login with the email address that you use on this social site and click the always log me in box...  after this, they had never had any issues again.

The game works great. There are just some people would rather just ****** and moan rather than trying to figure out why it is not working on their PC. Are there exceptions to this rule? Absolutely. But nothing worthy of exaggerating an issue simply for effect.

Then how do you explain the game not working on consoles?  PS3 and XBox owners cannot change drivers or update video cards.  Every single one of them is the same.  Why are there numerous issues for many people on consoles?  Some consoles are playing great, others not so much.  Why?  Bioware released a very sub-par product and no amount of fanboyism will change that fact.

chrcoe i apreciate ur help i have already reinstalled it for the 2ª time. Mine hasnt worked since its release.
i have upgraded, downgraded the catalyst havent tryied playing around with the catalyst settings because i dont know how, also tryied some other stuff i read none of it worked, also tryied the lowest grafic settings for the game then the highest, the difference is a coule of secunds more before crashing and the system rebooting,
about the clean install of win7 i am not going to to that its torture i just managed to get it just the way i like it, i will probably wait for a secund patch if the problem continues i will do a clean installation as a last resort if that doesnt work.
i will look for a refund solution and if that doesnt work i will never buy bioware/EA products again.

I'm still baffled that you're trying to solicit a refund.  Even you said it yourself, you think it's a software conflict! I think the biggest heads up for you might be an early adoption of an OS.  Wait it out, play the areas you can actually get into in the game, and see what happens.   Surely you don't expect them to give you your money back on a game with little-to-no DRM due to a software conflict (hint hint, do an actual clean install this time and install nothing but DA:O; with most portable harddrives you get a nice little backup tool that'll restore everything for you too! $70 for 1TB seagate on black friday, btw. =-D )

Just an FYI not every console is the same. your PS3/Xbox 360 are mini computers that may have the same type of driver/hardware issues as any PC out there. Date of manufacture is also a big deal when it comes to consoles. yes Xbox live and Playstation network try to fix these issues with updates but nothing is fool proof.

Also have you tried a diffrent game disk, like borrowed a friends or turned yours in as defective. Because you might have just goten a bad disk. happened to me with Call Of Duty 4 for Xbox.

Actually if you had bought it in a store the usa copyright law would not have allowed it to be returned as an open product. This is a law in effect for all pc games due to piracy issues. This prevents someone from buying it, hacking it, taking it back and getting the money back, then distributing it. Sure pirates distribute games all the time, but the law makes some of them buy it first.:o

Exactly.  It is like trying to regurgitate what you ate at a restaurant and demand they take it back for a refund.

Also, if you don't buy a game, dont ask for support.  Its like refusing to pay taxes then crying about the sorry state of your local roads.

if they just said their working on solving the problem i would be satisfied.
plus if they gave me the possibility of being refunded i would take it for sure.
