Well I rather have just the old squad but if there had to be new squad members, I would love to have Captain Kirrahe and Kal Reegar on my team.

I'd prefer to get the ME1+ME2 squad back. But if we're going to get a few new squaddies, I'd love a Batarian to join us. They're probably the race that has most suffered from Plant of Hats so far; I'd like to see a non-stereotypical Batarian (or perhaps a stereotypical one, but in greater depth that better explains the stereotype).

I want only the squadmates that you let survive the first two games make it. I want it to MATTER to gameplay who survived and who died. Otherwise, It's just another cheesy mechanic. Who cares if you lost half your team when everyone is replaced in ME3?

I really want Kal'reeger, because I think Adam baldwin is awesome, I want Miranda to return because shes played by Yvonne Strahovski, and to finish off the most awesomist(?) treo ever would be a Turian in the military played by Zachary Levi.

I love the old team - that means Ash/Kaidan and Wrex and Liara, too. We are emotionally invested in them. Please bring them back.

I understand that the 3rd game needs to be accessible to people who have not played the first 2, but there are ways to introduce these characters again and make them awesome in the eyes of a new player. Please do it!

Yep, another THIS.

Also unless the ME2 squad (at the very least) doesn't come back for ME3, it would cheapen the entire plot of ME2, which was almost entirely recruiting them and earning their loyalty.

If they DO come back then guess what, ME2's story is good and worthwhile.

I would like to see the survivors from both ME1/2 over any new character.

If there were new characters:

A Batarian would be nice to see. Especially if he/she doesn't like you.

A Elcor, on the ship.

A new species entirely, one that has just made an appearance to the galaxy. Very much in the same vein Humans did when they entered into Citidel space. Perhaps they were behind an inactive or damaged Mass Relay all this time.

based on the three pages it seems everyone is posting the same ideas. instead of races what charater archetypes or traits would you like. A han solo type, a male jack, bumbling turian etc

I don't like the change in tone the elcor use in ME2 - it seems sing-song.
I prefered it in ME1.




On topic though: Turian female, definitely.

Oh, and as much as I'd like a hanar, it doesn't seem right.

Yahg, Raloi, or maybe somehow tht advanced computer race? they like live in the ship and EDI would watch over them? hmm the more i think about tht the more i don't like it lol nevermind.

Female Turian, there is absolutely no reason not to see one in Mass Effect 3, even if she is the only one.



Batarian, it'll be interested to see one of humanity's rivals to join you instead of against you.



Raloi, the Galactic news made me curious about these species. It'll be interested to see what they are like.



A new race, maybe two.



As much as I want to see them return as squadmates, I understand if Bioware decides not to let any of your former squadmates rejoin you since Liara is really the only one with a guarantee to return no matter what.

This is exactly how I feel. I want to have (pretty much) all of my squadmates back, but I also want to have a Batarian on my squad, if only to subvert the Always Chaotic Evil trope. Or at least have a Paragon-esque (or at least Good) Batarian as a supporting character, that'd be just as good.
