While unlikely, I might make a female mage Hawke (if Varric is a romance) to create the whole "Apostate sisters!" thing.

Then I would recommend this group for you...

I'm going to play my first Lady Hawke as a mage, probably mostly the default I might edit her a little, because while in most games I usually prefer magic charactors in DA:O I prefered warriors and almost all my charactors were warriors and I want to make sure I actually finish a playthrough with a mage.

Then I'm going to do a play through as a warrior, probably with the default male hawke, after that all the charactors I make will be custom females, the first one being a rogue obviously.

My biggest problem with Mages in Origins was the origin story itself, you've got barely any emotional stake in it and the whole "Jowan" thing was rather lame.

First playthrough will probably be a Mage. I've never played a mage in the DA-verse, so I think I'll go for it in this game. Plus, after watching the trailer, blood magic is looking more and more appealing, in a somewhat disturbing but totally bad-ass way. I'll definitely do whatever the equivalent of Arcane Warrior is.

As far as customization goes, keeping the hair color, maybe the face morph, changing the hair. Looks way too much like my real haircut. I really hope we get long hair in this game. I want a braid.

I thought you should have been able to go to the Tower and say, "Hey, Jowan is at Redcliffe castle! Come and get him!" to the templars, since they were so ticked that he was a blood mage that got away. Or that his fate should have been in the ending dialogue, if you asked for him to be released to the circle of magi.

Yeah I definately think they should of had atleast two origins where you could play a mage, with warrior and rogue you could play every origin except one but mages only got the one option.

I think I might give my lady hawke longer hair than the picture shows if possible but I think I'll keep the colour.

My first play-through with Ladyhawke will definitely be a warrior, then a mage, then another warrior, then maybe another mage. No offense to anyone else who prefers them, but I hate playing rogues, I find them completely useless except for being able to unlock doors and chests. Although... if they have made the rogue class more separated from the warrior class (so they don't just feel like a weaker version) I might consider it.

On the subject of Ladyhawke's default face, I'll probably keep it the same for the most part and just ditch the hairstyle. I feel like it made her look like a little European boy... with giant watermelon breasts, of course.

I hope they decide to cut the ability to play female hawke at the last moment, just so I can see the uproar on these forums and see the people who've created a million threads on her (waaaa put her on posters, waaaaa advertise her more, waaaaa your being sexiest bioware) suffer for taking up half the forums.

BioWare is the sexiest.

Also, they're not gonna do that just because you have some bizarre issue with women.

According to a new thread default LadyHawke has brown hair and blue eyes.  Why the eye color change from MaleHawke (brown) to LadyHawke (blue)?  The brown/brown combo is surprisingly marginalized in fiction/media, especially in main characters and especially if they're female.  But I suppose blue is "prettier" and "more feminine"?  As a brown/brown girl, I'm trying to fight off my <_<-face at that theory.

Beyond a really good image of LadyHawke, my second MUST HAVE is some information on all the male LIs.

I'm definitely going to be playing as a LadyHawke warrior for my first playthrough, and probably as a mage on my second.  I wasn't too impressed with the rogue in DA:O, but the promised amped-up combat in DA2 will probably change my mind on that.

If Bioware decides to cut the female Hawke i can assure you i will not buy the game. If i can not have some character customization options i will not buy the game. I also think there will be alot of folks who feel just like i do and alot of us are core fans. While not all the fans take the time to post here i am sure that if Bioware wants to sell at least half of the original numbers of DAO they will not do that.

Your just a trolling meanie, takes one to know one.

Agreed, the witcher is the only game I was able to play as a non customizable male. I tried Gothic, the male character got so much on my nerve I never finished the game. I am female, I want to be able to play as a female. I can create male characters, but never feel as much emotionnaly involved.

Lol, I was tired and kidding don't worry. Of course I don't really want them to cut femhawke. My 2nd playthrough of a bioware game is always a woman, so it feels that much more diffrent then my first. I am slightly annoyed by how big of a deal people make out of her though, as...

A. I certainly wouldn't care if I could only play as femhawke and not malehawke. I just want a good game dammit! What do I care what the main character has down south of the border?

B. You can customize the s*** out of either sex... why make a big deal out of the deafault look?

But thats just me, obviously others feel very very very diffrent about it all.

PS- I totally meant to write sexiest.... yeah... um... honestly

Srsly I gotta agree with Wishpig, what's the big deal about her default looks? You are gonna edit her face anyways!:bandit:

Or are there the same reasons like before about the advertisement stuff?

Personally, I just like to know that they're taking equal time in designing default male and female Hawke. I don't want another ME-style situation where M!Shepard looks great and Fem!Shep looks like she was just made in the default CC without much effort put in. Plus I'll probably use the default for my first run-through if it looks good, which it does IMO.

I can't do anything else than agree with you. I've never really liked playing mages and I was disappointed by the origin.. I don't think I've ever made it past the origin story with a mage. But that's just me, and I like playing rouges so..

I wanted to see Lady Hawke for many of the reasons already addressed; I wanted to know what her body looked like (and yes, I do believe the double Ds and stick thin arms and hips are ridiculous and unrealistic, and anyone claiming they look just like that should post neck down pics to back it up).  I also wanted to see her animations, since the female Shepard animations were so poorly done in ME2, and I wanted to hear about her voice actor.  I also want to hear more info about potential love interests, I understand why we didn't get a lot of info on Alistair before DA:O came out, since his background was a spoiler, but Zevran was completely held back till the last moment.  Those of us who play females deserve to be able to drool over our imaginary video game potential boyfriends just as much as the guys have.

Lady Hawke having a nice looking default face would just be icing on the cake, it would show that she's not just an afterthought and the devs don't think of her as not as important as Male Hawke, the way the devs working on Mass Effect games treat FemShepard.  It might not matter to you, but obviously it matters to enough people to populate many threads about the subject, so it's worthy of discussion.

Did we really get more info about the female love interests than the male ones before DA:O was released? I didn't notice any dichotomy.

This! It would be nice to see a little attention on Lady Hawke. If they ever relesed a trailer with her in it I would be so ridiculously happy. :D

Jowan sucked.  I gladly turned his whiny butt in to the boss - well, once I learned that was an option.

As a guy Lady Hawke isnt a priority for me, but if I saw her being featured in advertising it wouldnt effect my purchasing plans.  So I don't know why they dont mix it up a bit.  Consistency for the sake of it?

Like I said, I understood why we didn't get a whole lot of information about Alistair, and I was very happy when it was announced that he was romanceable, but Zevran was the last party member revealed, and people were speculating about tiny blurry screenshots of him for months before that.  On the male love interests side of the fence, you have Morrigan, who was the "marketing girl" for the game, and Leliana, who was revealed pretty early, and her role as a romance option was not a secret.

It's not as bad as Mass Effect's treatment of human male love interests, where Kaidan was a mystery until the game came out, and we already knew Ashley's blood type and birthday, or ME2 where Jacob was completely left out of advertising despite being the star of his own game previously, but I'd like to see more attention given to Lady Hawke's male friends this time around.

Of course, I have a feeling Zevran was held back specifically to leave fangirls crazed at the thought of him, but sometimes more is a good thing.

Really like the idea of Lady Hawke trailer. It'd be good because they can showcase a different playstyle in cinematic form. Since Beard Hawke is some kind of warrior-mage hybrid, maybe some rogue type moves for Lady Hawke.
