I'm finding it very difficult to decide what sex and class to play first, this time. Mages are my favourite class, but I agree with some of you when you say that it's better to play mages second, so that you have a better understanding of which spells work best for your playstyle. Also, Bethany is a mage, so it seems superfluous to make Hawke a pure mage as well, at least at first.

I think I'll go for Warrior LadyHawke first, then do a mage Hawke second.

It's more about having her represented and present (in my opinion ). We've seen default maleHawke, we'd like to see LadyHawke too!

It's mostly to do with people wanting Lady Hawke to get a more equal amount of recognition. The default male hero from Bioware games usually gets his face plastered all over the various marketing elements such as posters and previews, not to mention the game box itself. Fans of Lady Hawke in general just want to see some love for the female hero, and having a great looking default appearence to show off on wallpapers etc. is a part of that.

Someone else asked the same exact question on page 3 (Only one page before you!  Reading isn't that hard!)  and several people had answers.  It's not *just* about seeing Lady Hawke's default face clearly, although that's nice too.

Also, the name of this thread is the Lady Hawke fan thread.  Meaning that it's a thread for fans to talk about Lady Hawke.  Lady Hawke's default appearance is one of many topics fans would care about.

Having looked at your initial answer just now, I still can't quite fathom why it's "nice too" or why you're concerned. Your goal is to play the game. Whether or not Bioware were to have released the picture, it wouldn't make a difference one way or another

Besides, going about it on the basis of equal recognition, why not beg Bioware to show you Black/Latino/Indian Hawke? Of course, why stop there? What about blonde or red headed Hawke? It's no fair for the hero to always black hair. There are other people with different hair colors yah know. No offense, but it's kind of silly. I mean, I could see if we could only play as the defaults, but since you can just create your own character, it kinda makes me wonder as to why you've all created a bunch of threads on this matter.

So if Bioware had been daring and made the "cover model" for this game female, and we had only blurry screenshots of the male version of the character at this point, you wouldn't be curious about what he looks like, and what his body looks like, and how he is animated, and who his voice actor is?  Why are you even looking at promotional material for this game if you don't care about all those things?  I do, and I play female characters, so I want to know all this information.

You seem to be stuck on the default female face thing.  See how people have pictures of Garrett Hawke in their sigs, and people have been speculating about him, and creating accurate fan art depicting him?  Yeah, players who plan to play female characters want that fun too.  If you don't understand that, I'm just going to ignore you from this point onward, because you're only in the Lady Hawke FAN thread to be negative and dismissive.

Well, as you can see, different players have different priorities than you.  Amazing!  Some of us do care about animations, body shape, and character creation options.  Those are things I'm concerned with, and seeing Male Hawke's version of these things won't address my concerns.

You really shouldn't feel so smug when you came into this thread asking a question two people had asked (and gotten several answers to), and since you didn't seem to read my whole paragraph above, I'm right in thinking you aren't very good at comprehension, have nothing to offer and there is no reason to discuss this with you further.  For the last time, it would be FUN to see Lady Hawke's default appearance.  It would engender discussion and give us material for sigs, avatars and fan art.  You don't have to join in, but if you're just going to harp on how YOU think the rest of us should have fun, you're nothing but a downer, and deserving of being ignored.

It all adds to the general cloud of hype that is floating about. This is all in good fun! There is no need to interrogate someone as to why they are jumping up and down (ask them sure) or (not picking on anyone here) ridicule them for letting out a squee.

Then I was mistaken. It's just that whenever see someone claiming that they're done talking, that I'm a troublemaker and that they are just going to ignore, that leads me to think that my posts have angered them somehow.

I'm all for different players having different priorities, but only when these priorities actually affect them. In this case, seeing the default version of female Hawke when you're not going to use her in all likelihood. Just like I'm not going to use the defaut version of male Hawke in all likelihood. I understand that you're concerned, but what I'm telling you that your concerns don't make sense (at least to me anyway). You and others say you want equal representation in spite of the fact that there are numerous groups of people who aren't being represented in these trailers. Why aren't you concerned about them getting their fair share of time?

As for body shape/animations/character creation options, this goes beyond merely seeing Female Hawke and is actually a legtimate concern. That said, I'm pretty sure your concern was simply to see Female Hawke (regardless of the media she existed in) as you wouldn't have mentioned the idea of FemHawke being shown in the trailer in your previous post, not to mention that you've expressed your concern as simply coming down to representation. If not, then this has simpy been an issue of miscommunication.

I skipped the first three pages because I didn't feel like reading them. Admitteley, this was a mistake on my part as my question had in fact been raised before. Laziness doesn't equate to bad reading comprehension skills though. I'm pretty good at tetris, yet there are many times at which I don't feel like playing. Same thing.

Look, you said the same thing in your previous post. My sentiments towards you saying this haven't changed. You're not obligated to answer questions/points which I've raised and have every right to cease discussion with me at any point of your choosing. I hear you and like I've already explained, I don't get the fun or point in all of this (especially the sig/discussion bit as you could do that without knowing what the default looks like). A friend who just played the game as LadyHawke at PAX says her voice actor is British accented, and "sorta Morriganesque".
