I'm saying larger breasts aren't practical or plausible for a warrior, and their presense can suggest that this character might be a Mary Sue.

It is also not plausible to flip over enemies mid-combat (rogue ability for DA:2) or for a character to jump while wearing massive armors in Origins. Does that make the PCs in DA:O and DA:2 mary sues?

Actually it does. ;)

Like I said, it seems DA2 in general is taking a departure from realism. (or going in that direction at least)

Maybe because the story is told from Varric's point of view, and he exaggerates a little.

Well, unless the game is told entirely from Varric's POV and there's no climactic "real life" portion at the end, I doubt they're going to change these unrealistic aspects (whether they be big boobs or ridiculous attacks) for the finale. I'm thinking Varric's exaggeration is mostly manifested regarding the extent of their prowess, not the.. different style of the game itself.

@the stave love

Yes but how heavy are they

If they are made of pure metal then yes, however if not then no. Also robes aren't as heavy as metallic or even leather armor. That **** weighs a ton

And neither are warriors or rogues.

But they swing heavy objects around and are more likely to have to stay in shape

That's upper body strength. There's still having to move wounded allies, carry all your gear around (this isn't just armor. it's all the equipment you use to set up camp, healing poultices, ect) hike across mountains, hills, valleys, rivers, forests ect.

IDK. It just amuses me that people are acting like we're saying NO BOOBS FLAT AS A BOARD ONLY PLZ. All I want is some muscles and *smaller* boobs.

Yeah, I second this. ^_^

And staves are also a melee weapon now, advertised Hawke is a mage for example.

Great point.

Ten pages. If this thread proves anything, is that no one is indifferent to boobs.
Please, Bioware, please. Answer this thread, so this madness can stop.

At least this isn't an ME forum, we'd have attack Rachni along with madness, and I'm fresh out of RAID.

This is starting to look like the ME forum.

Except more fun from my point of view.  I'm waiting for the game to come out before I get pissed off

*nodnod* As long as the story lives up to Bioware's usual standards and the gameplay is fun I'll be perfectly happy. Everything else is just gravy to me.^_^

Sheva.

I remember that name well due to how stupid the AI was.

"SHEVA, HELP! SHEVA! HELP! SHEVA! SHEVA! SHEVA!"
"I'm coming!"
[Sheva walks up a ladder at the other side of the map and then gets killed by the axe-zombie]

Don't worry man, he needed those muscles to punch boulders.

Whats this about carrying the wounded

Also they have magic at their disposal. Recall the Arcane Warrior class. It wasn't strength that affected their stats it was the magic/willpower. Whose to say that doesn't ring true in this case.

The advertised stave is relatively long and has a large blade at the end, assuming the little gem at the end isn't the same weight as the blade then you can expect the stave to be relatively unbalanced and using it as a weapon would require a lot of expertise and training.

A 75-page thread seems to disagree with this statement, let's also not forgot how it's been brought up 4-5 times by now.

So that makes it absolute fact? If 10 000 people said that Barack Obama is a white man, it therefore screams the truth?

Just because a bunch of people on these forums(who happens to be a small percentage of people compared to the rest of the buyers of DAO(and DA2) made a 75 page long thread(mostly posted by the same people), doesn't make it a huge issue.

Seriously, dumbing DA2 down to be a hack and slash(not saying it is!) is a huge issue, the rack size of a lady in game is not.

Dave of Canada wrote...

Then why are you hostile with the idea of shrinking them down

Where  did i depict hostility to the idea of them shrinking down? All i did was point out and laugh at peoples ridiculous assertions that its unrealistic for a girl to have big boobs but its ok for a fantasy world to show dragons blowing flames out of their assess and annoying dwarves that dont shut up.(you get the idea).

But hey, nice strawman argument, i should role out the red carpet for you your majesty.

Dave of Canada wrote...

We're speaking of Dragon Age 2, no? This would mean Leliana and such would have the same breasts as Bethany if they reappeared in Dragon Age 2.

No, you said Thedas, Thedas = DAO and DA2. Do you get my point?

When i play a game of this type i would expect more realistic proportions on either sex. As an equal opportunity offender, i should be able to design in character creation the form i want to look at, it is a single player game after all, so what i see is just for me. So as an euqal opportunity offender, if as a guy i get cheesecake and then i think the chicks should get thier beefcake. Each character should be able to not only be different in builds, but should look individual in more ways that hair or face, but body proportions should also be set on sliders. So if you want d cups and a gheto booty it should be possible, just so long as the chicks get the opportunity to design a male character with a kick stand. Fair is fair after all, Bioware make it happen.

Are you really trying to argue that depicting male fighters as strong and capable is just as bad as depicting their female counterparts as weak and huge breasted?

No, im just questioning peoples stupid rationale that a girl having a large rack is not ok due to the following reasons(its unrealstic, its the medival age so theres no GH or plastic surgery etc etc) but its ok for them for the male to be large and massive

You're on the road. Someone gets sick/wounded. You don't know what the exact problem is so you can't fix it but you still have to keep moving him before the darkspawn catch up.

Or someone goes down in the middle of a fight. You could try healing him but there's a large piece of shrapnel protruding from the wound so a simple heal spell won't do much good. Have to get rid of it. Can't call the melee guys off, they're literaly holding the darkspawn back. Mage has to do it or at least be counted upon to be able to if the situation calls for it.

From what I know and read up.

Thedas is pretty much falling apart, the Chantry is in ruins and Hawke is at the center of it all. Cassandra is seeking to understand Hawke to find out how the hell the world got into this state, unfortunately the only person she has access to question that knows Hawke is Varric. Varric explains Hawke's story (that we play) and as Cassandra begins to learn more about Hawke and how it all happened so do we.

I actually would like the 3 different classes being given different body types so that only Female Mages have boobs that big (Let's pretend she's vain) while the others are a bit more... mature looking and not out of Playboy/Baywatch
