How does that matter? That doesn't change the fact that some women have an issue with Lady Hawke's (potentially) ample busom.

They aren't built like He-Man in Dragon Age, why can't women get a fair treatment in Dragon Age too?

EDIT: I also complain against He-Man proportions, especially for Gears of War. THEY HAVE NO NECK.

Have you seen Hawkes biceps? They're large. Much larger than normal.

No, but it would be a legitimate comment. I felt that way when I read that thread this morning about the trailer Hawke not being masculine enough. That was equally wtf.

Yes, probably just as tired as the silent majority on these boards are tired of seeing a vocal minority of people complaining about this issue over and over like it was the biggest thing in the world. It's a game, stylised visuals.

So you want Hawke to have pornstar proportions?

I think people tend to forget how offensive statements like these are to women who are naturally that big, especially on the internet.

Not really, that aspect comes in because there just aren't women in real life who are that slight in other areas, and have a rack like that. It just doesn't happen without outside intervention.

That's not true. I happen to be shaped like that. Thus my own narcissim is probably to blame for being happy about boobs.

You have a 24 inch waist and considerably larger assets than double E's? That's pretty rare. I truely didn't know it was possible. You know the guys will want pictures, right? ;)

Haha no, my waist is not quite that small, but I have the hourglass figure, and that comes complete with the junk in the front and trunk., and from what I could tell from the photos( they were quite blurry) Lady Hawke's breasts were not a EE. If the were of that magnitude I would have a problem with it. It's sort of hard to stab darkspawn with two huge beanbags on your chest.

He has muscles, yes. Yet they aren't outrageously huge.

It clearly matters to some people. Enough to warrant seventy pages in a day. I cannot recall a thread on the DA2 forum that expanded that quickly.

But you'd expect a fighter to be pretty muscular. Even a mage would be pretty fit if he were an experienced combatant. There's no similar reason for LadyHawke to have gigantic breasts.

I really have to agree here. Heman was a poor example perhaps, but I have to say that I greatly appreciate the eye-candy created for me in video games.

They share the same model as Bethany / Mom, so here's a screenshot. There's a better closer screenshot but I can't find it.

You make it sound like the whole community is outraged by it, when its a small group of people who keep posting over and over.

I'd rather want realism than eye-candy, I want to be treated like an adult instead of somebody to be pleased with breasts and muscles.

Well, regarding the thing about how real women with these proportions might get offended by these exchanges:

There may be a certain tone that you might describe as "bitter," but it's not directed at actual people with these proportions. It's directed at the artistic designers who have the power to make these characters have any shape they want, but specifically chose to give them a shape at a rather extreme end of the spectrum. If there is bitterness, it's a sort of cynicism about the motivations of these artists and the industry as a whole hyper-sexualizing things... it's not a slam against actual women who have these proportions.

I think every thread where this topic has come up has had someone try to explain this, but let me be the one to enlighten you.

The idealized male is powerful.  He looks like he could actually be doing the things you do as a fighter in games like this.  He is much more realistic in that than the couch potato that is probably sitting behind the screen controlling him.

The idealized woman (though I can't imagine why some of you think that's attractive) could barely stand up, with the huge breasts, pronounced S curve and tiny waist.  Let alone be leaping over enemies and wielding a sword.  She exists solely to be ogled at by the couch potato men that are sitting behind the screen.

That is the difference.  Don't make me explain it again.

Oh yes, poor objectified menz.

Also, he's muscular but he doesn't look like a bodybuilder Mr. Universe type or anything. He looks like someone who is active and can actually lift the weapons he is using. He isn't:

Meanwhile, the females have breasts the size of their heads (try hanging two watermelons around your neck over your chest), arms like twigs and the wasp waists. I don't have a problem with people shaped like this at all. I have a problem with it being used as a standard, across the board thing. Why do they have to look like this:
Image IPB

Females in the game having big breasts and tiny waists serve no purpose other than to tittilate.
