I really have to agree here. Heman was a poor example perhaps, but I have to say that I greatly appreciate the eye-candy created for me in video games.

:D

It's more or less Marcus phoneix without his power armor :P

They share the same model as Bethany / Mom, so here's a screenshot. There's a better closer screenshot but I can't find it.

Hmm...I'm still not sure they're a EE . Do we have any bra-fit specialists in the house tonight!?

Have you seen Hawkes biceps? They're large. Much larger than normal.

I think it's fair to say one is a bit more normal than the other in this instance...

I think every thread where this topic has come up has had someone try to explain this, but let me be the one to enlighten you.

The idealized male is powerful.  He looks like he could actually be doing the things you do as a fighter in games like this.  He is much more realistic in that than the couch potato that is probably sitting behind the screen controlling him.

The idealized woman (though I can't imagine why some of you think that's attractive) could barely stand up, with the huge breasts, pronounced S curve and tiny waist.  Let alone be leaping over enemies and wielding a sword.  She exists solely to be ogled at by the couch potato men that are sitting behind the screen.

That is the difference.  Don't make me explain it again.

There's a real difference between the women you list, and yes they do exist in other games, Dragon age is quite conservative in comparrison, they have taken few artistic liberties when it comes to breast size, so what? If we were discussing Soul Calibur or anything similar where the armor is a latex suit with a bare midriff I'd agree with you.

Yes, probably just as tired as the silent majority on these boards are tired of seeing a vocal minority of people complaining about this issue over and over like it was the biggest thing in the world. It's a game, stylised visuals.

It's a game some women would like to play, too, without having our PCs look so ridiculous.

Apparently they're gearing the game more towards the console dude who can't mod in the giant melons.  As long as we can mod them out, it won't bother me.  Much.  I still reserve the right to point and laugh at Bioware for being so obviously cheap.

I can't even convey how much I hate that argument.

Cannot. Even. Convey.

Also, INB4LOCK!

I'm not really sure you can speak for the silent majority, seeing as you aren't a part of it. Views are varied and neither the pro- nor anti-watermelon crowd can presume to speak for the silent majority because, y'know, the silent majority is silent about their opinion.

I call bull****. Prove it.

Kidding aside, me and my four guests in the room are drinking this round for folks in BioWare. Bottoms up!

If we end up getting a toolset for DA2, I anticipate a Soul Calibur bare midriff latex suit mod to take advantage of these new assets.

Bigger then Pamela Anderson, the same size as Ivy Valentine. That's, uh...that's...pushing it BioWare. And take a look at her waist, too.

And compared to DAO, these proportions are absurd.  That is why there is outrage.  I know when many heard there was going to be a unique female rig, we were pleased because there wouldn't be the baseball mitt hands and linebacker shoulders.  Who knew that what was meant was that the female models would be even less realistic.

Oh yes, but on the other hand it also presents the opportunity to mod is some 'proper' sized breasts for those who whish. I have no doubt that will be the case.

Just do a Google Image search on EE bra.  It's hard to tell because they're also ridiculously pushed up, but I'd say they're bigger than EE.

But you'd expect a fighter to be pretty muscular. Even a mage would be pretty fit if he were an experienced combatant. There's no similar reason for LadyHawke to have gigantic breasts.

Yes to a certain extent, Bruce Lee muscularity? Believable, but not as large and muscular as Arnold Schwarzenegger in his bodybuilding prime.

Let's not jump to conclusions.

Not that a couch potato such as I would even want to do any strenuous jumping, that is.

We aren't playing a real life simulator. It's still fantasy. I don't want my mage or thief to look like a buff fighter. I
certainly don't look like that and I'm pretty sure most people don't either. Also pretty sure that no one believes that people really look like that. At the end of the day, its a game, some artistic liberties are to be expected.

Hmm...upon further research I am willing to concede that they may be EE. Barely though. I wouldn't say they're bigger, like you said they're also pushed up.

As far as I understand it, Dragon Age 2 isn't aiming for realism - it's a story being told by an unreliable narrator who's prone to exaggeration with a new art style that is less realistic than Origin's .

I don't think Bioware is aiming for a gritty realistic game with DA2, and I doubt larger-than-average boobs will be the only thing that sounds off alarms in the reality department. Now if you'll excuse me...

But it's the female model that is this way, not the story. Any female we might see outside of the story (such as Cassandra) will also have them.

Regardless, there is a difference between the exaggerated beginning Varric part and the real part. Those screenshots are from the "real" part.

Unfortunately, this sounds reasonable. And unfortunately it's another reason for me to add a little more hate to this specific framed narrative style BioWare is going for. Not everything has to be exaggerated beyond belief for God's sake.

If I'm not mistaken though the whole game is told through Varric, meaning even the "real" parts aren't necessarily going to be 100% real.

But the few scenes that play in "real life" will always have this model.
