Although I think that "unrealistic" and "unpractical" must be taken into the context of effectiveness in fighting, because face it, they definitely won't help when you're running so much.

And "cheap" and "degrading" are to be taken into context of having these much discussed big boobs mainly as a means of oversexualising and selling out.

If I see a woman with EE cup breasts who is happy with them I will not insult her. 
If I see her trying to fight with a sword I will laugh because her chest will be a huge hindrance

That's the problem. It's not just the boobs, it's the entire female model in the game which reeks of oversexualization
In fact I would be happy if Bioware is progressive enough to make a busty female character who is perfectly secure with her body and is strong in terms of both body and mind. But FemHawke is more Female Fashion Model then Female Warrior

I think most people's main concern here is that there is no other body type (other than Flemeth who got her own model altogether).  If there is no other body type for the women in the game, then there is a problem because while there are Bethany's in the world, the world is not completely made of Bethany-types.

Medium size boobs? Have you seen the pics? Again, the thin waist and no muscle COMBINED with the huge boobs makes it ridiculous. Also, it's really sad if all the women in the game have the Bethany model, I'll have to control my laughter

Plus, from where I see it, her armor/clothes/outfit seems to have a girdle-like quality to it (that doesn't explain the exposed chest, which is not good for fighting yadayadayada). And without different views on her character, we really have only a few pics to go off of; in my opinion they are not that ginormous. Another possibility is that Varric is describing this section with exaggeration so that everything (including character models) are exaggerated.

In other words, I think we are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

You have it the other way around. The part were Varric is exaggerating Beth is wearing a mage robe. The part where she is in the pretty dress, is in fact the real part.

I pretty much think all points have been made here, I quite like the character models but I am also aware that some may find them unrepresentative and exploitative, if you don't like the direction of the thread I would suggest that you don't post in it, as what points will be made without an argument to counter?.



Without counter argument those who have made arguments favouring the model have made all points I can see (limited perspective on my behalf), the only points that will then likely be made will be the 'wahey boobs!' variety and any wishes for a lock will then be granted anyway.

Still, the armor/clothes/etc. looks to have a girdle like quality to it. Either way, we are still making assumptions on a game that is in progress and with little image reference to go off of (from what I've seen at least).

In my part of the world, one of the feminists latest stunts was to unsexualise boobs by swimming topless in the public swimming pool. Let's just say that was a failure.

You say, all women that wear knee high boots are being called strippers.  All women with large breasts are being called strippers.  all women that twirl from apole are strippers.  Thus I've just called all of the above strippers and they should be highly offended.
