Bethany's chainmail is the equivalent of a corset. It looks almost exactly the same. It's doing the same thing a corset would. It's the angle and the low-cut blouse that make her breasts appear large. A women with average cup size would look just the same in real life with that outfit on.

If that is a corset that that is a complete corset fail. It looks nothing the same, and is a piece of chainmail held together by straps. If it was a corset, it is an underbust corset and has little bearing on the size of her breasts. Any corset worn, will not increase the girth of your breasts, but give you the illusion of larger cleavage that trick guys into thinking the boobs are larger.

Push-up bras are more effective, when it comes to boobs. Her boobs are not shaped as if held together and pushed in and up by a a corset (and an overbust corset doesn't cut in like that, assuming it's that white thing beneath her top--it appears to open up right at the front). Regardless, we've seen mom's model, and we've seen Hawke's, and they are the same.

And besides that, if she's wearing a corset into battle, that just raises further problems!

I suspect those last words of yours are true.

However, here is the point. Sure, male characters featuring pumped up muscle are over exaggerated and many male gamers don't exactly want that either but this is done primarily because in game ( fantasy games that is ) they eptimise strength and power. Fantasy warriors are 'larger than life' for this reason.

Exactly what, in keeping with the game, do huge breasts on female characters epitimise ?

But Bioware tries to create realism in their worlds and story, they've even included rotting teeth (much to player complaints) because it was realistic in the world's setting. Being able to constrast it to JRPG breasts should show there's a problem.
