It's not a great shot--I readily admit that--but why shouldn't I say anything? I have ample reason to believe that that figure is the same for all women--or most women without a unique character model--and I want to make my feelings known on the subject.

Now I see what your issue is with this. I didn't realise that every female may indeed have this "Model".  But I Find it hard to believe that bioware would have every single female with this Body style.

Wait...wait... is this really the shot we're working from?

Ok, whatever.  I'm all for not all women having mondo-boobs, and I'm all for women having more than one body type and shape, but I'm at least gonna wait until I can see Lady Hawke before I blow a gasket.

I got the impression from David Gaider that they would be releasing Lady Hawke pictures soon.  So, I think I'll wait until then.

Sorry for double post, And Now I see the Issue. Its not great to have every female looking that way. But can we just try to enjoy the game anyway? It's still in development and changes could be made. Fingers crossed.

I just thought everyone wa just complaining about the boobs, not the overuse of one female fig.

Already proven wrong. Bethany wears tattered robe in the most infamous screenshot. And mother and Avelline don't even appear at first.

Sigh.  Oh well, it would have been amazing, if they had thought of that.  I'm still waiting for word that these are not the final body design.  Please, Bioware, tell me that you thought a little more about female characters than that.

If what you say is true then Bioware = Varric in that they are Magnificent Bastards
I will commend Bioware on using a cool visual device like that. The game should have some really crazy stuff in it then.

It's not according to me. What you posted was empty of any kind of evidence (how would you even construct a study/experiment for that?) and sounded very much like the kind of thing people get from sitting on their couch and rationalizing things they don't understand. It's highly unscientific and seems to appeal more to people's confirmation bias and existing preconceptions.

zzz you want me to cite evidence? I could have gone pages and pages about that. Of course there will be exceptions, but I tried to TLDR it.

Saying women should be idealized as sex-objects because of biology and that they used to pick berries is kind of moot.

There are matriarchial societies in both our own history and comparable behaviour in the animal kingdom.

notable exceptions of societies that I know of:

ants, bees, wasps, termites, spiders (males exist to be eaten), amazoness, and some other old mayan cultures where women are equals

That train of though what pretty much wiped away with the rise of the Roman Empire in the west. Wasn't all that uncommon for women to be warriors (Not serving directly in the army though) and especially to lead armies, especially after the split of the Empire.

How do you know this? Its confirmed? It wasn't the case in ME2, where many Asari had more robust hips and thighs than human women.

And as to the blurry screen shots people are posting as evidence, well, I've seen clearer photos of Bigfoot.

I would love to see what field of science would allow such conclusions to be published past peer review. Not calling you a lier but I'm begining to suspect this isn't a very disciplined field if the consensus really is what you just posted.
