And it's very little proof

But what I'm saying is that we've already heard from them that would be too difficult on BioWare's engine to implement different body types. Flemeth has her own unique armor, and it's reasonable to assume she has her own unique model. But we haven't heard anything about there being several unique models for each gender or race.

As such, with what I've seen of Bethany and her mother, and what I could see in the demos--like I said, the only reason I have just that one screenshot is because I was looking to cap faces, not bodies--I'd say I have plenty reason to believe that's the only character model.

If I am proven wrong, I'll eat crow and be happy to do so.

How do you know this? It's confirmed? It wasn't the case in ME2, where many Asari had more robust hips and thighs than human women.

But that was another race entirely who had changes made from the human rig to make them look different. Dragon Age Origins for example only had the female human rig that was made, the dwarf / elf rigs were edited from the human one. It's why dwarves (and elves to a lesser extent) have extremely large arms in the first game.

While it might not be this way with elves / dwarves in DA2, every woman would have Bethany sized breasts and humans tend to be the most common species on Thedas.

And as to the blurry screen shots people are posting as evidence, well, I've seen clearer photos of Bigfoot.

Saibh posted one that was pretty clear.

Bioware takes the most meager of liberties to enhance the look of women and people cry foul.

Try comparing Bethany to some other game characters, and anyone with a modicum of common sense will see just how silly this debate is.

No tu quoques, please.

do you watch anime big boy? then you'd know what he's talking about

like I said, no tu quoques. If you have a point to make in defense of the models make it. Don't say 'hey look over at those bazookas.'

yes yes, because women create sperm and men give birth

There are matriarchial societies in both our own history and comparable behaviour in the animal kingdom.

notable exceptions of societies that I know of:

ants, bees, wasps, termites, spiders (males exist to be eaten), amazoness, and some other old mayan cultures where women are equals

That train of though what pretty much wiped away with the rise of the Roman Empire in the west. Wasn't all that uncommon for women to be warriors (Not serving directly in the army though) and especially to lead armies, especially after the split of the Empire.

I know, as well as the female chinese pirates, indian warrior princesse, but only exceptions in a sea of sausege

okay teach me how it rolls according to you

It's not according to me. What you posted was empty of any kind of evidence (how would you even construct a study/experiment for that?) and sounded very much like the kind of thing people get from sitting on their couch and rationalizing things they don't understand. It's highly unscientific and seems to appeal more to people's confirmation bias and existing preconceptions.

zzz you want me to cite evidence? I could have gone pages and pages about that. Of course there will be exceptions, but I tried to TLDR it.

anyway this is a video game forum, not an anthropological or biological discussion

I would love to see what field of science would allow such conclusions to be published past peer review. Not calling you a lier but I'm begining to suspect this isn't a very disciplined field if the consensus really is what you just posted.

Not a bit like the biology I know and love.

so marine apparently

heres a question: explain the occurence of blue and white lobsters

lol. wrong kind of Marine, buddy. I'm a layman when it comes to science. I just have a love for biology.

Aren't the elves getting redesigned anyways? And Dwarfs as well.

Like I said, begin complaining in the first gameplay trailer.

Then don't bring in what you wouldn't prove or even want to discuss about.

Saying women should be idealized as sex-objects because of biology and that they used to pick berries is kind of moot.

This.

Great, now you're all polite. Making this even more awkward.
I'll go hide in another thread for a bit.

Well, the complaint mostly stems from the human model at this moment. Elves and dwarves, if they suffer the same fate, will also be added to the complaints.

Okay, so a continuous debate over the ridiculousness of the human female body model's bust size including arguments about evolutionary psychology and lobsters? Am I getting this right? Wow, wth happened while I was out?
