Hey,

I decided to go back and play  Mask of the Betrayer  again after a long layoff.  My game is updated to 1.23 plus the hotfix.  Anyway, I'm in act 2 and I just got the Eternal Rest feat, and my Fighter is trying to use it on a  Near Death  Shadow of the Void.

Problem:  he keeps failing.  He simply can't ever do it.  The game keeps giving me a "concentration failure" message.

Say what?  I don't recall ever needing ranks in concentration to use my spirit eater abilities, and since my current KC is a  non-spell caster, I do not have the option to turn off/on defensive casting....  so how do I solve this problem?

You can add up to eight/nine points of Constitution with enchanted items.
And there's a Lichskull helmet you should have found very early.
Maybe some Gloves of Concentration or Luckstone for sale somewhere.
Prayer and Heroism/Greater Heroism should help, too.

Beyond that - I can't say. I never had the problem, with quite a few non-spellcasters. (Maybe I did and just didn't notice why it was failing?!)

I can confirm that it's a bug that was introduced with 1.23. I just rolled back to a previous patch and everything is fine again.

but if that's fixed, it screws my auto stilled/quickened spiritual evisceration...

Cheat your character 20 pts of concentration. If he's not using it for anything except spirit eater feats, that seems perfectly reasonable to me.
