Turians win with me by a long shot. Who couldn't love Turians, especially after watching the dancing Turian during Thane's mission? That male has some moves! ;-)
What's your favorite species.

Besides humans? Then I gotta say Reapers. So much mystery and history to them.

If Wrex could not kill Aleena and Aria brutally over powered the Patriarch. I would have to say along with beauty intelligence and a much envied longevity the Asari are the most revered and powerfull beings in the mass effect universe. (Reapers not considered)
Samara is the only character in the game that I feel could easily compare to myself / yourself / shepard, in every aspect from intelegence, experience and power. She is actually a character you feel you can look up to and take advice from. She has a very compelling nature and a very powerful impression in presence about her.

I love that Turian. I wonder how many people fail Thane's mission because they're mesmerised by him? Fortunately he's now on YouTube.
And yes, overall, turians are by far my favourite. They're just so damned cool.

I like most of the races but Turians are by far my favorite.

This is a tough one for me, but going off of the Canon info it's clear the organic races are based, at least by inspiration, on different Human conditions... reflecting different aspects of Human Nature. So the Humans gotta be #1 with their indomitable ambition. But the Asari & Salarians tie for a close #2, since the Asari seem to have the good life figured out and the Salarians' passion for scientific development.
I don't mean to troll, but I'll throw in my 2 cents and say the Turians are the most over-rated of the organics. I see more Turian fans than anything else, despite being militaristic, xenophobic, bureaucratic and backward.

Uhhh... Drell because of Thane, if other Drell are assassins then yeah, Drell. But Elcor are funny because of their monotone and having to explain their emotions at the beginning of their sentences hha

Genetically the Krogan are the most Powerful of all Species (ignoring Genophage of course)
Strategically the Turians are the most efficient (from what I've seen of Garrus anyway)
so Personally, right?
The Geth are the most powerful, and most likely to survive theis whole ordeal, I like them anyway.

I like all of them but if I have to pick it would be Turians. I'm hoping that once Shep's trilogy is done they make an ME where you can play as one.

Disregard synthetics ? technically they are not alive or should we start up a philosophy thread about artificial intelligence, robotics and the definition of "to be alive" oh goody..
genetically krogan ? I would have to disagree but agree to physically the strongest. The asari genetically are born with natural biotic abilities, more powerfull than any race even with the implants and the amplifiers. So I would still stand by my comment that the asari are the most powerful generally speaking and yet so fragile physically speaking, as one krogan would say "squishy". but along with a superior intellect in comparison to the krogan I would conclude they are the superior species...
remember in ME1 when you went in a room full of enemies with liara then suddenly you were shooting at a mess of floating bodies circling a singularity lolz... no other squad member could diffuse the situation that quickly
that being said. This can only be an opinion as the amout of information about these races are scarce. Even if you have read the books ascension and revelation and the comics, still does not provide us with the much wanted indepth detail about these races... *bioware are you reading this? hint*
but to the point Asari all the way ! then if i had to choose a 2nd its quarian... so love to be on the quarian ship Idenna with Hendel and Gillian on the deep space assignment!!

For some reason whenever I look at Grunt I want to throw my arms around his neck an giggle incessantly, like one might with a st. bernard or something. Something about their huge heads and tiny (comparatively) limbs, I guess. I also find that Krogan trash talk makes me laugh and that I feel compelled to charge them when they shoot at me. I guess Krogan are my favorite race, followed maybe by Salarians (I like how they talk) and/or Geth (much the same feelings when fighting them as Krogan).

Turians and Krogan are pretty matched
I love the sense of nobility and honor turians have
and
Krogans just love making wise cracks about stuff

Favorite species...favorite species...
Turians, hands down. While they have an amusing body, their society and nature allow me to relate to them.

Hmm... there's something I like about all of them, but I'm rate my top 5, Cliff Notes edition
.
- Krogan - Tribal and beaten, but they keep a sense of Pride and Honor in the face of despair.

- Quarians - Their sense of community and perseverance against tough odds, (outcasts, living on decrepit ships, children in bubbles and adults in exosuits) and they're still rather friendly?
- Salarian/Turian - efficient and pragmatic with a strong sense of duty
- Asari - elegance, longevity and natural biotic ability

Volus and the Elcors. I just love how the Volus are little hot-headed puffballs, and constantly bickering with the slow-speaking (but not stupid!) Elcor. I loved listening to the ambassadors bicker back and forth in ME 1, and I was surprised to find an Elcor blackmarket dealer in 2 (I think?). Nice change in pace.
... And the Elcor remind me of HK-47. >.>
