I really liked the asari. They were humoid in basic appearance, but they live for thousands of years and have light years of technology ahead of ours. I also liked the quarians, they struggled to survive, even with losing their home planet, and they're fighting to get it back. They're inches from extinction, but still proud and holding onto their identity and culture. I can respect that.

Quarians.  They suck at fighting (except for Tali) and tend to get themselves in hot water more times than not, but they are great when it comes to tech.

The Krogan are really cool.

I have a really hard time picking.  It's a hard draw between asari, turian, quarian, and geth ... but ultimately I'd have to go with the turians personally, and the geth in a literary sense. They're just a really, really cool race as a concept.

Perhaps because of all the "whoring-out"? It was in ME1 as well, but way less.

All of the alien races are interesting with great looks an really in-depth history and info.
But if I had to choose one it would have to be the Quarians. There's just a sense of mystery about them because we don't know what they look like, and i also think they've got massive DLC value in mass effect 3 with there situation with there homeworld! Or even a whole game for them.

My favorite species is Asari, blue alien babes all the way. I cannot stand the volus, to me they are all liars and underhanded manipulators. The only two volus I like are Barla Von, because he seems very well cultured and respects Shepard, and Niftu Cal because he's a biotic god.

All the species are unique in their own way, but my favorites would probably be the Krogan, Quarians, and the Turians.
