maybe it'll be a future loyalty mission in Mass Effect 3.

As far as I'm concerned it can only be an AI. However because that's been repeated several times, ill add to that theory. I believe the shadow broker to be an AI that was formerly an organic. (technically not even a true AI i suppose)

I'm assuming time will have taken its toll on the former organic body until all that's left is a partially cybernetic brain connected to a massive computer system.

I'll go so far to say that the brain used to belong to a volus.

Liara not only killed her mother but will kill her father too. Just like a greek tragedy.



And I wouldn't be amazed either if an unknown sister appears to avenge such thing.

Shadowbroker cannot be a reaper, because in "Mass Effect retribution" we can read, that SB wants to sell Shepards body to the collectors...



i'm guessing that it is not yet known (or met) character in ME.

Actually, from what we know and what's been revealed, it does sound like you do in fact confront the Shadow Broker at some point, thus revealing their true identity.

IMHO Feron will replace Thane in ME 3.... of course if he survive during our Liar of the Shadow Broker adventure

I agree it would be nice to see that SB is already known character

Original Shadow Broker is dead, but the AI he used to gather info continued his work and gathered/sold info.

Whoever the Shadow Broker is, I doubt 'he' is a human. Humans haven't been on the scene long enough to get their tendrils into a galactic information network. My guess is the Shadow Broker is an asari or a turian, maybe even a salarian dynasty. Volus, hanar, elcor, drell, batarians, krogan, vorcha and quarians don't seem likely suspects either.

This by far makes the most sense to me. Narratively it makes a lot of sense because it allows for character progression at the same time as tying up a loose end.
