I tried to get a friend a copy of NWN2 with expansions and non of the stores I visited had any copys. 5 out of 5 big box and 2 out of 2 for the reselling type chains.
Is the game not being sold via DVD/CD anymore?
Why can't I find NWN2 in any big box stores?

Not in most if not all stores. You can still order online at many places and get either the DVD or a digital download.

Well, the game is 4ish years old.
And it's 1+ year since the last expansion was released.
And Atari is being sued.
Plus, I doubt that there are/were many people looking for used copies, given the need to get an unused key to play on-line.

Yeah, but honestly, I still can find Civ III and IV for sale on the racks and there's still plenty of other normally stocked items that I wouldn't touch with an 11 foot pole (Big Game Hunter, for example, or Railroad Tycoon, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Extreme Trucker, etc.) and yet, other games much more deserving of a retail shelf location and bin number are left to rot in some dusty warehouse (or worse, not being produced at all even though they'd sell.)
I think the lawsuit is the biggest kaibosh, but even so, Atari should have maximized that profit potential during the lawsuit as it wouldn't have hurt them to do so. Then again, it's hard to give Atari the propers for being business acumen gifted in the last decade or so.
Go to the Atari.com website where you can order the retail box version or the online digital download (through Digital River.) Also, Amazon.com, E-Bay, check with BestBuy.com, Newegg, and possibly whatever large scale gamer's retail site there might be.
I wish that folks in their excecutive offices could see a little clearer with that higher and loftier view when it comes to maintaining a level of presence on the store shelves as long as possible. I can still find Mass Effect 1 for PC at Best Buy. Didn't that actually release before NWN2?
Oh well, good hunting and best regards,
