"Why do you think Flemeth appeared as a frail old woman? And not in a more powerful form?.....she has her Reasons."~David Gaider.

She's up to something.

Yes she is up to something but I don't think we have enough info at present time to make reasonable assumptions about her morality.

She's malacious, though not in a "She wants to blow up the world way". She wants the world to continue to exist, so she can keep on being malicious.

Flemeth no doubt has some crazy and evil scheme in the works. Fortunately for us, there is a 90% chance that it will make more sense and be more justifiable than anything Morrigan could ever do.

So far I'd define her as amoral. She's out for #1, again, as far as I know.

I mean, she saved Alistair and the Warden not because "it was the right thing to do" but because they'd be useful.

Practical and pragmatic so far. Malicious and evil... eh, I'll wait and see.

She's selfish, if you want to define evil as that go ahead I guess. It's also possible Morrigan is working in tandem with her.

Makes sense. Morrigan is the perfect puppet. A braindead sociopath who can easily be manipulated if you just tell her that doing "Task A" will result in her getting more doggie treats or jewelry or whatever it is that she likes.

Trying to bait Morrigan lovers into a fight eh? Hang on while I go get the popcorn.

Well if I'm really honest I think she more on the evil side but it depends on what a person would say was evil she helps people if they are going to gain her benifit I personally think thats the attitude she has.

Flemeth's deceptive and manipulative, and I'm guessing she has a master plan unfolding as we speak. But pure evil is unusual in DA's developed characters. Will Flemeth prove different?

Now her motives - that's what I wonder about.

That's ignoring quite a few other things Flemeth does. She's also a murderer, and I'm not just talking about the unverifiable murder of her daughters.

She's very demon-style, with a more pragmatic twist. She kills people who aren't important, like templars trying to track down mages or the occassional barbarian, but she lets those crucial to the surival of Thedas survive, as she wants to protect her existence.

She's certainly planning something but whether it will work in the PC's favour or not we'll have to wait and see.

Do you mean the templars who've tried to track her? The ones she always gives one warning? That's self defense...although she does turn it into a bloody game.

I find her fascinating , especially her amorality ,cynicism and manipulative nature.

I think she's just pragmatic not evil, maybe she kills, hijacks bodies and so on but hey my warded have done some terrible things still she is heroic figure ^-^

Evil or not, she's the most interesting character in the game.

As relhar already mentioned, i wouldn't be surprised if she's working in tandem with Morigan

^-^

She does have the option to avoid them. The templars are merely trying to protect people from apostate mages, a legitimate task. Unquestionably, Flemeth has murdered other innocents in the past, and has even threatened the lives of Maric and Loghain.

In the Stolen Throne, her house has a gruesome collection of corpses of innocent non-templar men. Dannon is the only one that is named, but the bodies were from a camp of people persecuted by the Orlesians. Dannon was killed for irritating Flemeth with his impoliteness while he was fleeing the Orlesians.

Flemeth is certainly very good at manipulating people and has problably more knowledge and power than any other Origins character. She is definiately very selfish and willing to use people to achieve her goals. I think the simple term "evil" is not enough to define her. There is more to her character and I'm really looking foward to learn more about her.

Resposting this as many people seem to be ignoring the murder of random innocents in their assesments.

She doesn't seem to be 'muahaha I shall kill you all' evil, but on the other hand she seems far too malevolent to be brushed off as just being morally ambiguous. Curious about just how much of her humanity she's retained considering she is almost certainly an abomination (unless Morrigan lied about that and Dragon Flemeth is just a shapeshift... oh, my head).

^^^ Yeah, that's pretty evil. Either that, or Flemeth is a huge stickler for good manners.

If there is anything to be said against Flemeth, it's that she makes it too obvious she is a schemer with plots within plots. Why? Because she speaks in the occasional riddle and laughs knowingly at her own nonsense she spews at whatever poor mark shes trying to deceive.

You know what I would like? Someone who had plots within plots that you could almost never suspect. Like Kohaku in Tsukihime.
