Actually we know extremely little about Flemeth from what we were given in DAO. I always thought she was super powerful being who lived for thousands of years, but given that how easy it was to kill her in DAO, I always thought that too was part of her scheme.

She plays a somewhat significant role in "The Stolen Throne", one of the two Dragon Age novels. That gives a pretty good view of her moral character, making her a lot less mysterious.

Just to be clear: There are NEVER any legitimate reasons to kill civilians. None. Zip. Nada.

There are always casualties in war. If you really thought that than every soldier or politician involbed with innocent people dying would be what? A murderer?

But back to topic. I wouldn't say Flemeth is evil. She is incredibly dangerous though. It remains to be seen what her plans are but as of now I could imagine my hero to side with her or stand against her, both possible.

Flemeth killed her daughters and stole their bodies.

I have a suspicion that this might be evil.

I don't trust her at All, But I do trust Morrigan. For reasons I just can't explain.

I don't think we can simply discount the horrific things she did, so I would have to say, overall, yes, despite that she arguably saved Thedas by saving the Warden and Alistair, she's still an evil *****. You can't mitigate killing random innocents by doing good deeds, and even if you were to bring some kind of "greater good extremist" argument, i.e. everything she did was "necessary" so that she could survive and save Thedas, you can't tell me she had to kill every innocent person she killed when she could have simply eluded them/turned them away with her magic. And even if you could tell me that, I would dispute that the ends justify the means if the means involve killing innocents. And regardless of all of that, I doubt she's really a "greater good extremist" anyway, it's more likely that she's simply out for herself above all else, and she kills people as a matter of convenience (whether for looking at her funny or because she needs the body to extend her own life).

^--Someone Needs to Ask DG What exactly was The wish flemeth asked from him.
I Think he impregnated her to be honest. Looking at how she was an Old woman back then in stolen throne. Morrigan says she rememeber her mother having black hair and looked like herself. Meaning that there must have been a Change in bodies from Between "Stolen Throne" and "The 5th blight". That would Make Morrigan Maric's granchild and some relation to Alistar, ewww incest if you had him do the ritual.

I don't think Flemeth can be "evil" or "good", she's just your "dark grey" type of character.

Flemeth seems to do whatever she has to do.

If she has to kill civilians for whatever reason, she will.

If she has to save two wardens to end the blight and add the possibility of netting her an old-god grandson/daughter, she won't blink twice.

If she needs an apt refugee to be her errand boy/girl, she'll go save them and give them the package to be delivered.

Sure, Flemeth has a "hidden" agenda, but what it is? It's too soon to say, although I'm almost 100% sure that the over-arching storyline of the DA franchise is closely associated with her and her actions.

If further example to that claim is needed, then suffice to say that if not for her, there wouldn't have been a DA:O after Ostagar nor a Lothering hailing Hawke in Kirkwall.

Eww. That's just disturbing. I am incredibly curious what Maric was asked, but impregnation is unlikely. Flemeth specifically asked Maric for a promise, which implies something more long term.

But what? Allowing the Grey Wardens to Return? She knew about the blight, she knew about loghain doesn't this mean she can see into the future? So why didn't she see the warden attacking her or her daughter escaping her glutches?

Perhaps she saw a possible future. Nothing is set in stone.
Perhaps it's even because she can "see" several outcomes of the future that she lends her hand every now and then, and is actually shaping Thedas to the best possible outcome, well, as she sees it.

Making people think that she is just a frail old woman is part of her plan imo. Would you have helped her if she came in her dragon form claiming to need help? Pfft, do it yourself "old lady".

Not necessarily. It indicates she may be observing the Darkspawn or be aware of the Architect. She might've judged that the Wardens were necessary to defeat them. This does not mean she is prescient.

Not really, but I read the books she just never seemed trust worthy to me. The things she told Maric ended up with the two's relationships becoming strained.

I don't trust anyone who through the transition of my blade in her neck turn from an old man trying to look like an old woman very poorly to smokin hot.

She shows Hawke her true powers straight away, was this to strike fear? While to the grey warden she was trying to make a somewhat trust worthy relationship? Either way she looks scary. Even has Morrigans trademark eyes and Feather decoration.

She's got her own agenda, and is somewhat of a Magnificent Bastard. I don't think we can say whether she's evil or not until we find out what that agenda is.

Whose Also a Witch and a shapeshifter, she also likes talking to strange mirrors. And likes ravens/Crows. (Morrigan and New Flemeths Robe decoration anybody?)Posted Image

I hope we get to "kill" that old hag in DA2, even if it's temporary.

Nah, new flemeth is a mix between malificent and the evil step mother. Except kinda hot in the "I'm going to lose my man parts trying to have sex with her but worth it" way.
