I just had this tought while having a friend over the other day... Mass effect is a single player game. That's why it is so good. Big story, many different ways of playing the game and no war about ''this is overpowered everybody not using it is stupid''. I firmly believe it should stay this way, but I think being able to play your single player game on coop with a friend would make the whole package even more awesome.
Here's the idea, player one is shepard, and plays like normal with the two squadmates he wants to bring on a mission and can use their powers anytime. Player two can just pick up a controller and take control of one of the two squadmates, use the guns they can use and also use their powers anytime (with right\\\\left bumper).
Squadmate powers still play out the same (warp is instacast, same very long cooldowns on drones, etc) and can be activated by any of the two players, player two cannot pause the game, player one still can.

That would spice the game up without breaking its core,
what do you think ?

edit: hmm probably the wrong forum to post this in, I'll try to move it somewhere more relevant....

That topic has been discussed to death, especially said idea of yours is already know throughout a felt 74.09 times.

I have my own mechanic for CoOp up my sleeve, but until I worked things a bit more thoroughly, you will have to wait for my idea that might actually be implementable.

Since you've moved the post to another forum, I'll go ahead and lock this post. But I'm under the impression that threads about ME multiplayer tend to get locked irregardless.
