Hmm despite the snark earlier it never really crossed my mind they could take Arcane Warrior out. I was planning to make the first Hawke arcane warrior + blood mage actually, based on the trailer...
same here.

That might be the saddest thing I've ever read

Focus on those aspects rather than something as silly and illogical as: "warriors can't dual wield... because we want them to be DIFFERENT from rogues!" That's laziness.

*facepalm*
You do know that I was being sarcastic, right?

Indeed, most of you are right in your suppositions.
Removing dual wield specialization from warriors allowed us to not only make the classes more distinct, but to make the dual wield attacks all distinctly rogue-ish. A warrior in plate mail being fast with two daggers I could handle, but flipping and rolling into attacks? That didn't make sense. So, we could either have boring, vanilla dual-wield anims, or we could make them for rogues and deliver lithe, acrobatic combat for a class that should be just that.

edit: although if it turns out both configurations shown in the trailer are no longer an option, it'd be hillarious.

wait.....so someone specifically asked if Arcane Warrior was still in, and they didn't get a straight answer??
that's.....not that reassuring.....

Makes you wonder why they can't just have it so that the skills function differently depending on the class using them. Of course that would be too much work for them I guess.

Haha- oh boy what a fail trailer that would be- "So yeah, in addition to looking absolutely nothing like how the game will really look , those skills and stuff you saw in the trailer, like a dual wielding warrior qunari or badass warrior/blood mage Hawke? Totally not in the game. No Morrigan Clone Army either."
But by the logic of further delineating classes, you'd think they'd get rid of Arcane Warrior though, right? Since its basically the mage stealing basic warrior skills?
I just think its stupid to limit DW to rogues- like others have said, the better solution would have been to further delineate a DW warriro from a DW rogue. Have the DW warrior be more in your face with their DW abilities while the rogues are naturally more stealthy with backstabs and all. Just because they're both DW doesn't mean you don't play them in a different way.

It'd be great if warriors at least got a one handed weapon (no shield) spec. Taking dual wield out is a bit much. My first playthrough was on a DW human noble. I don't mind class overlap, as long as the base class skills and specializations between rogues and warriors are unique enough.

WHAT?
I always play DW warrior!
I might get over it though if rogue is better, but hells bells!
