But what about the devastating hulk of death, with an axe in each hand and heavy armour, just hacking away.....

Indeed, most of you are right in your suppositions.

Removing dual wield specialization from warriors allowed us to not only make the classes more distinct, but to make the dual wield attacks all distinctly rogue-ish. A warrior in plate mail being fast with two daggers I could handle, but flipping and rolling into attacks? That didn't make sense. So, we could either have boring, vanilla dual-wield anims, or we could make them for rogues and deliver lithe, acrobatic combat for a class that should be just that.

That's well and good, but what will warriors get in compensation please ? :P

Rest in peace dual wield warrior. Go softly into the night. Fly with the clouds and the angels where you can be at peace.

So my bisexual dalish duel wielding warrior with ears close to his head is a huge plot hole now, wondrous.

This is somewhat troubling.
Bioware confirmed removal of dual wielding and absence of polearms.
I really begin to wonder what the the third warrior talent tree will be now.
I hope it will not be cooking.

If it is Alistair will kill us all.

So warriors are (most likely) limited to two-handed weapons and sword-and-shield--assuming that's still in the game, since it's been confirmed that there are no pole-arms.

I assume to make up for this, rogues are limited to dual-wielding and archery.

And the Mage has less over-all spells (and staves are melee weapons now...).

Well, this sounds fun.

It will be positively marvelous.

And in turn all the systems will have more depth instead ;)

By the way, who else got a kick out of learning incredulity had a role in dual wielding warriors getting cut?

This may be a stupid question, but why not just have warrior-oriented DW animations? I.e., animations that don't involve insane flipping and such nonsense. I mean, the qunari in the trailer is obviously a DW warrior, so...? Doesn't have to be dual daggers- could have been big-ass axes or war hammers.

Coulda woulda shoulda at this point, I guess.

Someone had better tell that Qunari that he's doing it wrong then, he didn't look very rogue-like to me.

How bout this? we have a specialization where you use one normal sword but it is extremely fast and accurate, kind of a fencing style. Would be a fair trade off.

Shame. Should have introduced Monkey's Grip instead to solve the athletic lithe ninja spartan assasin combat animation problems.

The ideal solution would be to make two entirely seperate sets of dual wielding skills, one for warriors and one for rogues, complete with their own animations.

Aye, a relentless berserker with a weapon in each hand, not some poncy git who prances around and couldnt lift two swords.

I suppose rogues will be restricted to daggers? That would be fair.
