Killing them is acceptable because sometimes the game decides too much for you, for example i never liked Jack, i would have handed her over to the authorities if i could (because of her crimes) or just don´t recruit her at all. But no, i had to recruit her, and after that i didn´t trust her anyhow, i felt like she was crazy and would stab me at night, or kill joker and take control of the ship or some other mad thing. That is why i kill her on the suicide mission, becuase i don´t like her character and i have seen it enough.

I also think that the suicide mission is worthless if no ones dies, so i always try to kill at least two or three members (usually jack and thane) to add more depth to the whole thing, and honestly, because i don´t mind getting rid of characters than i won´t miss later on. I could never kill Garrus for example because he was my buddy both in ME1 and ME2.

See, I'm impressed with the fact you explain why you play the game and make no apologies for your decisions.  It's certainly not what I would do, but it's YOUR game.  Your decision making regarding Jack reminds of me Samara vs. Morinth.  Who's to say this isn't the same sort of thing?  Do you tend to be paragon, or renegade?  If paragon, then you've got a nasty streak Image IPB  If renegade, well, there's nothing else to say.  Lol.

In other words, welcome to real life.  You are Commander Shepard.

Well there could be other reasons. Like, some people say they find it stupid for no one to die in the suicide mission - it's an immersion breaker to them because it seems unrealistic that everyone lives.

I've looked at it as, if they really are the best, they would have a high chance for survival, it's not like you'e recruiting a bunch of "red shirts" for the mission.

I agree with numotsbane. If everyone survives the dramatic impact at the end of Mass Effect 2 is far lesser. On my first playthrough, the one I consider personal canon Thane and Mordin died, plus most of my crew, just because I was rushing forward and didn't pay much attention.

:o thats exactly what happenned to me... I couldn't deal with Mordin's loss though, so I went NG+
I don't have either of those saves now, they were on my corrupted MU, which is a shame.

I can see how the deaths makes it dramatic for you guys, but to me, it is more traumatizing. I don't like the idea of losing people. Here's my reasoning:

I'm Commander f*cking Shepard. I'm a total badass. Not only a military tactician, but a combat specialist. Not only am I the best, but I'm leading the best. Each of my teammates is the best in their respective fields. We should all be able to survive a "suicide" mission. Shepard is definitely smart enough to keep everyone alive, which is why everyone is alive in my import file.

I dont lose people on the SM, since its so simple and easy to win.
Just dont listen to Miranda and there you go.

Also I dont really hate any of the squad, so there goes that excuse.
Hopefully the no one left behind acheivement is worht something in part 3.

For some reason I think that Bioware was imagining the SM to be much harder then it is. I went in blind the first time really, and lost NO ONE, so much for the SM.

Man, who I wouldn't seduce/kill/make fun of to find out the numbers behind gamers that got 'No One Left Behind' on their first try.  In my social circle, out 10-15 people only myself and one other person saved their entire squad AND the Normandy's crew.  Lots of folks did a few missions after the Collector kidnapping.  With the squad, Thane usually died in the vents because they felt his infiltration skills were more critical than his tech ones.  Mordin died often as well holding the line, because they would typically bring some combination of Garrus/Grunt/Zaeed against the Baby Reaper and fail the defensive check.

Heck, this doesn't even take into account all the opportunities Bioware gives to screw it up!  Lol.

While I don't think it's realistic to expect even titans to be immune to all surprises of fate on a very dangerous mission by virtue of professional excellence, I expect nothing less from Shepard, as the commander, than an effort to save absolutely everyone. And if I can save everyone, but do not, I see it as a failing.

I don't kill people I don't like; I kill people to have variety in my ME3 imports. I've got three 'no-one left behind' saves, one where all the humans are dead, one where the Cerberus squaddies are dead, and one where only Tali, Garrus and Legion survived.

There isn't a rule saying I have to roleplay 100% of the time, is there?

Nah. I'm not criticizing people who like to kill off teammates for whatever reason, it was just my opinion that I would never kill anyone off.

If you can get me a 1920x1080 pixel picture of the squad selection screen I'll make one.

It really wasent that hard for me:
Hmmm a tech expert you say: How about the dude is an AI, and was hacking a reaper.
Team Leader: How about the guy who massacared mercs by the score with only a small team, through tactics.
Biotic: How about the 600 year old, Asari who is like Yoda!
Team Escort: Mordin is a Spec Ops who did go behind enemy lines, easy choice.
Last Team Leader: Garrus again, since not even the Reapers get past him.

It also didnt hurt that I had every single damn upgrade, since I cant leave things undone ever.
Also I plan on kicking some serious Reaper Kiester with my team. I saved the whole ship, crew, and squad they damn well better be in part 3.

This may not be the exact size specs, but I tried it on my PC screen (19" widescreen)
and it came out fine.

Here's the original pic.

Zis^.

I roleplay, but I look at it more like a story I'm writing -- I always do things in a certain order to get a certain narrative flow.  As an example, my main Shep is an Engineer, imported from ME1.  He chooses shotguns as a bonus weapon, because he had them as a bonus skill in ME1.  And I give him the Geth Plasma Shotgun; it makes sense that an engineer who made his name fighting synthetics would be able to salvage one of their weapons for his use.  Also, he never starts using that weapon before I do one of the Geth related N7 missions.

So I have a no one gets left behind save.  I have one in which his LI gets offed.  I have one where both Garrus and Tali died.  I always leave him alive though... adds into his Sole Survivor guilt complex.  I have one in which only the tech users survive.  (Science Team Go!)

I'll have to try the 'Cerberus personnel die'.  Thanks for the idea.
